Minister of Justice of the Kingdom of Morocco Abdul-Latif Wehbe received Counsellor Jaber Al-Marri, the Chairman of the Arab Human Rights Committee (Charter Committee), at the Ministry of Justice's headquarters in Rabat on 22 February 2023.
The meeting spanned a considerable duration and encompassed a range of discussions on pressing issues facing the Arab world, recent developments in human rights matters, and experiences that have yielded positive outcomes.
Wehbe highlighted the efforts of the Kingdom to develop and expand alternative forms of sanctions. Al-Marri, in turn, presented some of the most notable experiences that the Committee has monitored during the process of reviewing state reports.
The discussions also touched upon the Kingdom's efforts to expedite the ratification procedures of the Arab Charter for Human Rights. The meeting culminated in a mutual exchange of publications that included reports and studies, with both sides expressing their commitment to continuing constructive dialogue in order to promote and safeguard human rights at both the regional and national levels.
