THEOBALD FAMILY EYE CARE - Key Persons
Dr. Martin Theobald is a founding partner of Theobald Family Eye Care. A Duluth native, he attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth and St. Cloud State University, where he received his bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science. He earned his Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston, College of Optometry.
Dr. Teresa Theobald is a founding partner of Theobald Family Eye Care. She is a native of Kansas, where she received her bachelor's degree in Biology and Chemistry. She graduated with honors in the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society from the University of Houston, College of Optometry.
Dr. Teresa Theobald is a past President of the Minnesota Optometric Association. She also served on the board for the Duluth Lighthouse for the Blind for ten years. Dr. Theobald has earned numerous awards and recognitions including the Young Optometrist of the Year in 2004 for outstanding involvement in the optometric profession and her community, the Political Action Committee Representative of the Year Award in 2011 from the American Optometric Association and the Optometrist of the Year in 2014 from the Minnesota Optometric Association. She continues to be actively involved with her professional association as the Chair of the Minnesota Optometry PAC.
In her spare time, Dr. Theobald enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, cooking, spoiling her dog and exercising with her gym family.

Dr. Whitney Lauer joined Theobald Family Eye Care in 2019. She is a native of Perham, MN. She earned her bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN. She attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN where she graduated with honors.
In her time at Southern College of Optometry, Dr. Whitney Lauer was a member of the Optometric Honor Society, Beta Sigma Kappa, and the Student Minnesota Optometric Association at SCO. There, she served as the president of the SMOA at SCO. In practice, she continues her active membership in the Minnesota Optometric Association. She participates in several annual meeting expanding her knowledge in a variety of topics. Her recent schooling also leaves her proficient in fitting scleral contact lenses, a specialty contact lens.
In her free time, she enjoys handiworks such as sewing and quilting, gardening, cooking, and spending quality time with family.
