Dr. Johnson has been working at Cook Children's medical center since 2009 with a focus in treating blood disorders. She continues to have a special interest in sickle disease care. She served on the Texas Sickle Cell Advisory committee to provide recommendations to the state legislature regarding ways to raise awareness about the disease across the state. She serves as medical staff for Camp Jubilee, the annual summer camp for area children with sickle cell disease.

Dr. Fernando Acosta is a highly respected pediatric neurologist at Cook Children's. He specializes in caring for children, teens and young adults with neurologic conditions.

James D. Marshall, M.D., is dedicated to the treatment of critically-ill children. He is also the chief research officer for Cook Children's clinical research program, which works to investigate the relative value of medications, medical devices, and therapeutic regimens which can be used to manage illness and promote the good health of children.
Dr. Marshall began his career with dual fellowships in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and Clinical Pharmacology/Toxicology. He accepted the combined roles of Associate Clinical Pharmacologist and Pediatric Intensivist at The Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO. Further leadership roles there included Executive Vice President of the Anesthesia Associates of Kansas City, P.C. and Assistant Professor of Anesthesia and Medicine at the University of Missouri.
Dr. Marshall later transitioned to Cook Children's in order to practice medicine in a rapidly expanding System. There, he was called to develop a collaborative, integrated, and centralized system of pediatric research which now provides the entire range of operational and business services to its burgeoning research program.
Dr. Marshall is pleased to serve Cook Children's Health Care System as Vice President and Chief Research Officer and practicing Pediatric Critical Care Medicine within its Physician Network. In addition, he's excited about his role at Texas Christian University as Professor and Inaugural Chairman of the Department of Pediatrics within the TCU and UNTHSC School of Medicine.

Lynne M. Eger, M.D., first became interested in pediatrics in medical school, a natural by - product of her love for children. Before becoming a physician Dr. Eger worked for two years alongside a nurse in a health education capacity in Paraguay. While there, she learned the importance of making a connection with patients. Today, as a pediatric specialist in infectious diseases, Dr. Eger applies what she learned.
When she's not working, Dr. Eger enjoys spending time with her husband who is originally from Budapest, Hungary. As a couple they love traveling and visiting family.
