Background Aimee joined Kerr Stirling in early 2022 as a Conveyancing Paralegal and is already proving to be a valuable addition to our team. She deals with all aspects of residential property and has now moved into plot sales. She is based in our Stirling office.

Alastair Barclay

Background Alastair is a partner in our Falkirk Office specialising in Corporate and Business Law matters. Alastair joined the firm after five and half years leading the commercial legal team at Sainsbury's Bank. Before joining Sainsbury's Bank, Alastair worked in private practice with law firm DWF in their corporate and commercial team. Alastair's expertise covers a wide range of corporate and commercial matters including all stages of the life cycle of businesses from start-up to exit. Born and bred in Falkirk, Alastair brings a strong local knowledge to the firm. Alastair has been praised by his clients for his ability to understand them and their businesses, and for delivering clear and pragmatic advice.

Andrew Ion

Background Andrew Ion specialises in agricultural law. He joined the firm as a partner on 1 June, 2011. His expertise in agricultural work extends to buying and selling of farms and farmland, attending to the different forms of leases of agricultural land, windfarm and renewables deals including negotiations for landowners and tenant farmers, partnerships, agricultural partnership disputes and executry business and Wills with an agricultural slant. A hugely experienced solicitor with a very loyal client base Andrew adds considerably to the breadth of services available at Kerr Stirling.

Baljinder Kaur Purewal

Background Having grown up in Stirling, Baljinder moved to Glasgow following her qualification into the profession but returned to live and work locally some years later. Baljinder joined Kerr Stirling in March 2024 and has over 20 years' experience in a broad range of commercial property matters. Her areas of speciality are commercial acquisitions and disposals, land & property development, assisting commercial property developers, acting for lenders in repossession sales and acting for both Landlords and Tenants in leasing transactions.

Chris Inglis

Background Chris joined Kerr Stirling in 2022 after qualifying as a Solicitor. Based in our Falkirk office, he acts for a range of clients, including private individuals, families, companies, trustees and executors, to provide practical and comprehensive advice on all aspects of Wills, Powers of Attorney, Tax and Estate Planning, Trusts and Executries. Chris particularly enjoys building trusted relationships with clients as they navigate the often complex and deeply personal issues associated with succession, the protection of wealth and taxation.

Background Florence is the firms Office Manager and Head of Finance. Florence joined Kerr Stirling in 2005 and is a Scottish Law Accountant. Her drive and organisational skills are second to none. As well as running the finance, regulatory and compliance side of the business, Florence has a particular interest in the firm's charitable projects and is the driving force behind many of our fundraising endeavours.

Background Lauren joined Kerr Stirling's Commercial Property Team in September 2024. Lauren is a board member of Willowacre Trust and a committee member of the Law Society of Scotland's Complaints and Oversight Sub-Committee.

Background Linda joined Kerr Stirling in August 2024 as a Private Client Paralegal after working in large city firms in Glasgow (for 22 years) as she preferred the smaller firm to deal with clients more personally. Linda can advise clients on wills, powers of attorney and estate administration. Linda's strengths are reinforced by building lasting relationships with her clients.

Louisa Gardner

Background Louisa is an experienced Law Society of Scotland accredited paralegal (also holding a Business Law Degree and a LLB Law Degree) dealing with the sale and purchase of residential property with an emphasis on plot sales. Louisa's experience in general property work and plot sales combine to give a unique perspective which allows her to anticipate and promptly deal with any questions asked by buyers' solicitors during the plot sale process. Her exceptional organisation skills are appreciated by clients.

Lucy Ferguson

Background A former trainee of the firm, Marc became an Associate Partner in 2018 and a Partner in 2021. He is responsible for overseeing the Private Client department at Kerr Stirling. A pragmatic and able conveyancer with a background in both residential and commercial property, Marc's current practice covers a range of Private Client services including preparation of wills, power of attorney, executry administration and estate planning. Marc is married to Jennifer and spends most of his free time chasing after his son, Emmett, and daughter, Blythe.

Margaret Spence

Matthew McKeown

Background Matthew is an experienced commercial property lawyer who advises on a wide range of commercial property transactions. Matthew's commercial property practice predominantly deals with acquisition, disposal and leasing of large and often complex landholdings. He also has considerable experience in acting as property support in large corporate transactions, both in terms of leasing and asset disposal. He acts for a wide range of clients, from individuals, small owner-managed businesses, developers, investors, SIPP providers and funders, up to large multinational organisations. He has a particular interest and experience in commercial leasing, acting for both landlords and tenants in all aspects of commercial leasing. He also acts for a number of commercial developers and housebuilders in the acquisition, site assembly and disposal of both commercial and housing developments. Pauline has a large number of residential clients as well as dealing with a large number of plot sales for two large building companies.

Priyanka Thakur

Background Priyanka joined Kerr Stirling LLP in 2024 and has been working within conveyancing for the past seven years. During that time, Priyanka has qualified as a Law Society Accredited Residential Conveyancing Paralegal and has gained extensive experience handling a wide range of residential transactions. Priyanka deals with all aspects of the conveyancing process, from inception to completion, ensuring a smooth transaction for clients. Currently in the penultimate year of her LLB, Priyanka is committed to furthering her legal knowledge and aspires to qualify as a solicitor in the near future.

Ross McNaughton

Background Ross joined Kerr Stirling in 2024 and brings with him almost 20 years of experience of conveyancing, having qualified as a paralegal in 2005 and a solicitor in 2015. Ross specialises in rural property transactions and acts for clients when purchasing and selling forestry, farmland and estates. Ross also deals with options and leases for renewables developments, as well as agricultural financing and complex voluntary registrations.

Russell Spinks

Background Pragmatic, knowledgeable and personable, Russell has over 18 years experience in all types of commercial property development with particular emphasis on housing development (both private and affordable), leisure, agricultural development, renewables projects (wind solar, hydro and battery storage) and industrial. Russell also has significant experience acting in secured lending (for both mainstream and challenger lenders) as well as finance and refinancing of transactions the length and breadth of Scotland, both urban and rural, with a particular focus on agricultural finance lending.
