Founded in 1994, the first Nehemiah company was established with a $5,000 loan from a Baptist church based in Sacramento, with the purpose of promoting homeownership and economic development for underserved communities. The Family of Companies has grown to includes several non-profit and for-profit entities and has become a catalyst for change throughout the United States... The Nehemiah Family of Companies is a Social Enterprise, delivering socially responsible programs and services that meet the needs of the clients we serve while generating revenue that is reinvested into our non-profit activities, operations, and program development. Our social enterprise model combines the passion for individual and community transformation of a non-profit with the innovative spirit and business excellence of the private sector.
