Barry has a unique insight into the AML/CFT threats and current challenges facing businesses, together with the most common regulatory failings leading to public sanction by the Jersey Financial Services Commission. He has unrivalled experience in the regulatory field. After thirteen years in the role as the JFSC's Director of Enforcement and MLRO Barry Faudemer stood down in June 2020. Prior to joining the JFSC Barry was the Head of the Police and Customs Joint Financial Crimes Unit and has extensive experience of investigating financial crime, conducting regulatory investigations and managing financial intelligence. Barry is a graduate of the prestigious FBI National Academy having studied how terrorist organisations fund their activities and has over forty years of enforcement experience. As a member of the National Risk Assessment Working Group identifying current AML/CFT threats to Jersey's finance industry Barry contributed to the National Risk Assessment.

He relocated from Leeds, England where he trained at a specialist litigation and commercial law firm. Jared Dann

Jared Dann specialises in complex and high-value trust litigation. He also specialises in matters involving fraud and asset recovery. Jared has considerable expertise in a range of contentious insolvency and restructuring matters, particularly where they involve multiple jurisdictions. He joined Baker & Partners as a Partner in February 2024. Jared was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2007 (currently non-practising) and thereafter practised at the commercial and chancery bar in London before joining a leading offshore firm in Jersey in 2011. Whilst at that firm, he was admitted as an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey in 2014 and became a Partner in 2019; he then led the firm's Dispute Resolution team in Jersey from 2020 to 2023. Jared is an experienced courtroom advocate, having appeared very regularly first in the English courts as a barrister, and subsequently in the Jersey courts at all levels. He frequently works closely with law firms in the UK and internationally, having developed a practice which often involves international and multi-jurisdictional issues. Kay Jewer is a qualified chartered accountant with over 12 years experience working in a variety of roles within the Jersey Financial sector. After graduating from University, Kay started her career working in audit for Deloitte Jersey. Whilst there she gained exposure to a wide range of clients within the Finance industry primarily within Real Estate and Private Equity. Here she undertook regulatory compliance reviews, created engagement budgets focusing on recoverability and co-ordinated cross-jurisdiction audits. Lynne Gregory

Lynne Gregory is an English qualified Solicitor and Jersey Advocate. Lynne studied at University College London, graduating with first class honours before completing her legal studies at the College of Law in London. She went on to train at the ‘Magic Circle' law firm, Allen & Overy, before qualifying into its litigation department where she carried out a broad range of commercial litigation, arbitration and public inquiry work. Lynne subsequently worked at several of London's top firms including Baker & McKenzie and Charles Russell Speechlys, practising the full spectrum of commercial and civil dispute resolution. In 2013, she became in-house lawyer at Centamin PLC, a FTSE 250 mining company based in Jersey. Marcus Wide is a Consultant, based in the Baker & Partners' London office. Marcus was admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1971 whilst working for Cooper Brothers and, on the recommendation of the Senior Partner, took a transfer to the Canadian firm. He then sought a transfer into the Insolvency group finding a particular interest in that area of practice. In 1982 Marcus obtained his Trustee in Bankruptcy Licence, and was made a Vice President of the insolvency arm of the firm and in 1984 became a Senior Vice President and Partner. Marcus had responsibility for Atlantic Canada, and subsequently for oversight of insolvency in the Caribbean. From early in his career, Marcus became involved in reviewing fraudulent or criminal activity. Marcus worked with PWC in the Caribbean for 15 years, investigating and pursuing assets in the area of fraudulently run offshore banks. After retiring from PWC and his continuing consultancy, Marcus joined Grant Thornton as Managing Director of their BVI office. He won many significant assignments. These included being the principal Joint Liquidator of Stanford International Bank, with book liabilities in excess of U$8 billion and over 20,000 depositors. Investigations and asset tracing have given rise to multiple litigation in a number of jurisdictions not only to recover assets, but to get compensation from persons aiding and abetting the fraud. Marcus was also Joint Liquidator of CLF Limited, a Trinidadian conglomerate with 29 operating companies and allegations of improper dealings with related parties to investigate and seek recovery of assets or value. Creditors in that matter approximated US$4 billion. A Chilean fraud had a number of BVI companies which in turn controlled property in a number of other jurisdictions as well as property in BVI.
