EVANS & CO - Key Persons
After graduating in 2001 with a business degree in Bristol in the UK, I got a job in an accounting practice in Dorset and qualified as a chartered certified accountant (ACCA) in 2005.
I met a kiwi girl in the UK and moved to NZ in 2015 and settled in Cambridge. We then moved to Blenheim and I am excited to have now rejoined my old Webb & Wood colleagues at Evans & Co, working remotely.
Outside of the office I enjoy hanging out with my wife and our little girl, travelling, drinking coffee and eating cake and 'doing up' our house

"I love having the opportunity to work with a variety of clients, helping them take the stress out of their accounting and tax obligations. Being part of the Evans & Co Team makes coming to work fun and we have an awesome pool of knowledge and experience to pull from."
When she is not in the office Ella enjoys tramping, biking, spending time with family, and scrapbooking.

She's an owner/director of a healthcare business so understands the impact of owning and running a small business, staff recruitment and retention. She also knows the huge benefit of having someone on your team that speaks your language.
Jane's never been quite like other accountants, she is a creative thinker, never afraid to challenge herself and the coach and mentor in her likes to challenge those around her.
She embarked on her journey as a Chartered Accountant in rural Hawkes Bay where she grew up, building up extensive experience in several large professional services firms both in NZ and overseas with a stint of commercial experience thrown in as a project and management accountant.
She is passionate about growing great businesses and the farm girl in her is passionate about the agricultural industry. Early in 2016, Jane founded AgBiz Accountants followed by a name change in December 2020, to Evans & Co, which is a lifelong dream where she continues to look after both new clients and clients she has worked with for many years.
Jane has two daughters and two golden retriever dogs who you will meet from time to time at the office. She is a keen masters rower, mountain biker and she loves to dance.
Since joining Evans & Co as a senior accountant in March 2024 I have really enjoyed getting to know my colleagues and clients. Working with a variety of businesses has been a great experience, but I'm especially drawn to the farming sector-it's both challenging and interesting for me.
When I'm not busy in the office, you can usually find me outdoors with my family, hiking, biking, or just soaking up nature.

Kim truly enjoys being part of our collaborative team at Evans & Co., where a supportive atmosphere and a bit of laughter make the workday enjoyable.
She loves spending time outdoors with her family and cheering them on at various sporting events. A passionate sports fan, Kim also coaches netball, supports the junior lacrosse program, and plays goalie for the Hautapu Sports Women's Hockey team.

Mike has over 35 years in Public Practice, with the last 16 years in Cambridge. He has considerable accounting and taxation experience in small and medium sized business, including a background in the UK, having cut his teeth with top 6 accounting firms in England.
Mike enjoys working with his clients, ensuring they receive the very best attention, and with a great, fun team of colleagues. He takes pride in finding the most beneficial solutions for clients. Mike has been involved in a number of successful start-up businesses, including devising the best structures for such organisations.
Outside the office, Mike enjoys golf, racket sports (pickleball and tennis), cycling and tramping and generally getting outside with his family and young granddaughter. Mike's other keen interest is premier league football, having followed his favourite team, Arsenal since a wee nipper.
I've been working in accounting practice for nearly 20 years where I started out as a junior while studying and raising my young family.
Over this time, I have been challenged with a wide range of tasks & responsibilities which have all contributed to the accountant I am today. These range from GST, payroll, management accounting, compliance accounting, client relations…I'm aging fast, so the list just goes on!
My title at Evans & Co is senior accountant and the role is varied, however, I feel you create your own role in a way. Experience, personality, strengths and growth within the position shape it into your own unique role. I enjoy crunching numbers and helping clients and colleagues whenever I can.
The best part of my job is the awesome people I work with and the amazing client relationships I have built over the years. I love sharing the highs (and lows) with clients and it's a big deal to me to receive an email with a picture of their new home, new baby, or new business venture.
Having clients, some I only know by voice, confide in me and feel comfortable enough to share struggles they may be experiencing is a huge privilege and I love building these relationships. This part of my job is such a privilege!
I'm pretty active (code word…can't sit still!) so home time is usually with my family, running, creating cakes or cranking the music while I clean!
