Marshawn D. Pettes

Marshawn is a Certified Public Accountant that serves as the owner and managing director of Pettes LLC. He has over 10 years of accounting experiences and loves to work with small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and individuals. He has private accounting experience in preparing financial statements, monthly general ledgers reconciliations, monthly depreciation, fixed assets, trend reports, bi-weekly payroll, and accounts payables for one of the largest university-based credit unions in the United States. Marshawn also has public accounting experiences in assisting over 200 high net-worth clients and companies through tax planning, projections, and preparing individual, non-profit, and corporate tax returns. Marshawn received a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University, a semester early (GO GREEN!!), as he studied abroad in Japan and Mexico and became a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated. Shortly after, Marshawn received a Master of Business Administrations degree from Northwood University, and a Graduate Accounting Certificate from the University of Phoenix. After purchasing a building on the same block, he grew up on, Marshawn dedicates countless hours supporting the community and uplifting his neighborhood. He hosts free financial literacy courses, partners with other organizations to conduct turkey drives, and hosts an annual free hunted house at his office for the youth. Marshawn spent a large portion of his life beating odds and decided to go back home to Detroit, Michigan after college, to teach others and to make a difference.

Shania Clark

Job Titles:
  • Staff Accountant
Shania is a Staff Accountant at Pettes LLC with over 5 years of experience working directly under Certified Public Accountants. She participates in preparing Individual, S-Corporation, C-Corporation, and Partnership tax returns. Shania is responsible for maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions for each client, following the preparation of journals, ledgers, and financial statements. She also has experience in banking, where her primary duty was to improve the client's financial situation. Shania received a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance from The University of Michigan-Dearborn. Her journey through college helped broaden the love she holds for helping individuals with their finances. She loves working with individuals and small businesses to ensure their understanding of complex accounting situations.
