Carlson Capitol is a custom manufacturer of lid supports and metal stampings, dedicated to meeting our customers needs and expectations... Carlson Capitol lid supports are approved by the US Consumer Products Safety Commission. Carlson Capitol is a tool and die and metal stampings manufacturer. Besides producing metal stampings for a variety of customers, our lid support is our product line. Because the lid support is our only product line, we have been able to customize our products. We have different brackets, cams, rivets, slides, and plating... Carlson Capitol is located in Rockford, Illinois, and was founded in 1945 under Capitol Tool & Die Works, Inc. In 1981, Capitol Tool & Die purchased the assets of W.G. Carlson & Sons. The lid support product line came with the purchase of W.G. Carlson. Our name was then changed to DBA Carlson Capitol Manufacturing Company.
