Arjan van der Maarl is an electrical engineer and Dutch and European patent attorney. He holds a masters degree in IC technology (University of Twente) and a bachelor's degree in technical computing (University of applied sciences Amsterdam).
Arjan has over 15 years of experience as an engineer and architect in developing embedded systems at several companies, including start-ups and multinationals. He has a particular interest in advising start-ups.

Hans holds a masters degree in mechanical engineering from Eindhoven Technical University. He joined Shell and worked initially on many technical projects.

Lex has a masters degree in chemistry. He has worked for Royal Dutch Shell, was Group Patent manager at Burmah Castrol, and was a member of the team at Siemens AG that coordinated and controlled the portfolio management activities of all the intellectual property units of Siemens. Subsequently, he has gained experience in private practice where his clients are mainly mid-sized and multinational companies.
Lex has over 25 years of experience in representing clients before the EPO, and advising clients on all aspects of patent practice, including commercialisation.
His areas of technical experience include oil conversion processes, catalysts, greases and lubricants, polymers, starch, food products, mining, foundry, non-woven products, solar cells and concrete products.
In addition, Lex is a recognised specialist in the fields of patent management and the development of patent strategies. He is the author of the internationally acclaimed book "There May Be Trouble Ahead, a Practical Guide to Effective Patent Asset Management". Lex is an active member of the Licensing Excutives Society (LES) and a former President and Board member of LES Benelux.
He holds the European Patent Litigation Certificate, which allows him to represent clients before the Unified Patent Court and he is also on the list of mediators of the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre.
Reini has a masters degree in both naval architecture and law. She has over 30 years of experience in providing advice and IP support to a multitude of Shell businesses in the areas of oil and gas exploration, refinery and petrochemical industry, wind and solar energy and biomass conversion.
At Shell she was senior legal counsel and head of licensing and agreements. In her later career with Shell, Reini worked there as Associate General Counsel and was a member of the Global IP Leadership team.
She has significant international experience in the fields of technology development arrangements, joint venture arrangements, and technology licensing and technology service agreements with third parties including universities, other knowledge institutes and industrial partners.
