Kim is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, with a BS in Civil Engineering, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois with 25 years of industry experience.
After a 16-year career with the Illinois Department of Transportation, District 6, Kim joined CEC as Vice President in 2013, managing projects and assisting with the daily operations of the firm. In 2015, Kim became majority owner and CEO. She became the sole owner of CEC in 2022. As CEO and President, she continues to build on CEC's long-standing reputation for quality service and dedication to delivering the client's needs. Kim is proud of the CEC team!
Kim enjoys serving the communities that she was raised in, where she serves on several different boards. She is a board member for the Civil & Environmental Engineering Alumni Association (CEEAA) for the University of Illinois @ Urbana-Champaign, and for the local Engineer in the Classroom (EITC) committee. Kim also serves on the advisory board of her daughter's grade school as Vice-President. Outside of work, Kim and her husband, Michael, enjoy spending time with their family, including their two daughters at home, three sons, three grandsons and three dogs. The pups, a lab and two French bulldogs, are frequently seen at the office! Kim also enjoys golfing and singing in the church choir.
