PHOENIX HEALTHCARE CLINIC - Key Persons
A graduate of the University of Kansas Family Nurse Practitioner program, where she received her master's degree. She is also Board Certified in family practice through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She has been practicing for the last several years in the urgent care and emergency room settings. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Dana was born in Seoul, South Korea. She was adopted and grew up in a small, rural farm community in Kansas. She has lived and practiced in the Kansas City area for many years. She enjoys running, biking, organic cooking and spending time with her family.
A graduate of the University of Kansas where she also serves Clinical Assistant Professor, SoN graduate studies. She completed her doctorate, masters and undergraduate degree from KU. She specializes in Family Practice, Women's Health, Nurse Midwifery and is a Lactation Consultant. She is board certified in family, women's health, lactation and midwifery. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Academy of Nurse Midwives, and a member of ILCA and ASCCP, an organization for healthcare professionals committed to the treatment and management of lower tract genital disorders. Karen also practiced for a number of years in the emergency department setting prior to opening Phoenix Healthcare Clinic. After years of watching patients land in the emergency room department and incurring large healthcare bills, it became her mission to improve access to care for patients by offering another option of comprehensive, quality, safe and cost-effective healthcare services. A native of Johnson County, Karen is happily married with three children. She enjoys spending time with her family, supporting KU sporting events and her children's activities. She also enjoys spending time at the lake and skiing.
