My interest in radio began in the 1980s when I was a kid listening to amateur transmissions and commercial shortwave broadcasts. In the eighth grade I entered my school's science fair with a project about how different antennas affect radio reception. About that time I tried to learn Morse code on my computer. Either I didn't have the patience or it proved too difficult for me at that age so I moved on to other interests... With the Morse code requirement removed, I studied and was granted my Technician license in November 2013. I decided to continue my study and was granted my General license in March 2015 and my Extra license in May 2015. My current call sign was granted in June 2015. It wasn't until July 2015 that I acquired my first radio and a couple of weeks later made my first contact.
