Alexander joined the Commercial team as a graduate surveyor in 2021 and has since gained experience in the office, industrial and retail sectors. Alexander specialises in agency work across the wider Cambridge area, acting mostly for private clients.
He is a qualified member of the RICS and has an MSc in Real Estate from the University of Sheffield. Alexander is also an active member of the RICS Matrics Cambridge chapter.
Alison joined Cheffins Commercial department as a Chartered Surveyor in 2010. She was previously an Associate in a major London based practice, advising high profile property management clients in central London and around the UK.
Alison has a vast amount of experience across the property management, professional and valuation fields. She specialises in property management, leading a team acting on behalf of three Cambridge Colleges. As a RICS registered Valuer, Alison also deals with valuation work in Cambridge and the surrounding area on a range of commercial property types. She also acts in a corporate advisory capacity for a local business, assisting with all aspects of property management and lease matters relating to their property portfolio.
Alison is a Chartered Surveyor with over 30 years' experience in the Cambridge property market, dealing with a wide range of asset management and lease consultancy matters for landlords including many Cambridge Colleges. Alison will carry out professional work and assist with key projects to implement the overall estate strategy.

Anaya joined Cheffins in 2023, and moved to the Commercial team in 2025. She is currently studying Real Estate at University. Anaya is helping the Commercial Management team and gaining valuable experience with the prospect of a career in Commercial Surveying once she finishes her studies in the summer.
Andrew joined Cheffins Rural Department as a graduate surveyor in 2022 after completing a degree in Rural Land Management at the Royal Agricultural University. He is preparing to sit the APC with a view to becoming a Chartered Surveyor and a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers.
Andrew has experience in property management, agency and professional work across all rural property types.

Claire joined the Cheffins Planning Department in 2024 as a senior administrator. She has 20 years' experience in business administration in both the public and private sectors.

Edward joined Cheffins following the acquisition of PlanSurv Ltd in December 2021 and brings over 10 years' experience in the construction industry to his role.
Edward has a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering high-quality new developments. His expertise in navigating complex planning processes, combined with his dedication to achieving the best outcomes for clients, has made him a trusted professional in the field.
Edward has successfully achieved planning permission across a range of sectors and is committed to ensuring that each project is executed with precision and the highest standards of quality.
Edward joined Cheffins in June 2017 having worked in the Cambridge commercial property sector since 1986. He has a range of experience in the agency and professional markets covering the retail, life science and industrial sectors throughout Cambridgeshire.
Edward specialises in the retail food and beverage agency market in Cambridge, as well as professional rent review and lease renewal work for both Landlord and Tenent across all sectors. He is a RICS registered valuer. The majority of his work is in Cambridge, Ely, Newmarket, Haverhill and Saffron Walden but some client work takes in Norwich and Peterborough, Hitchin, Stevenage and Bedford.
Outside of his typical role, Edward has acted for two major retailers since 2010, principally on property investments and retail outlet portfolios, rent reviews, lease renewals and acquisitions. He has also acted for a number of well-known Cambridge technology and life science companies, as well as the region's most prominent professional services firms.

James joined the Cambridge Machinery Sales team in April 2023 as Auction Representative. He is responsible for introducing new vendors as well as liaising with existing clients and consigning lots for the monthly sales. A significant part of the role is managing the machinery section of the sale.
He also provides advice on machinery values drawing on a background in farming and his considerable knowledge from over 10 years experience with premium agricultural machinery dealerships.
Jenny joined the Cheffins Fine Art department in 2009 as an administrator having previously worked for another auctioneer. She initially joined Cheffins as an estates administrator, but has also worked as a photography assistant, saleroom assistant and now works as an auction administrator.
Jenny's long service in the department means she is a familiar face to many clients.
Jenny has a degree from SOAS, London in History of Art and Archaeology.

Luke joined the Cheffins Fine Art Department in 2023 as a specialist in Old Master and 19 th century pictures.
He studied History at the University of Bristol where his interest of the role of visual imagery in 16 th century Europe first inspired him to pursue a career handling antique art. Luke previously worked for eight years at another auction house where he oversaw a number of varied high profile sales including two paintings by Sir Winston Churchill for over half a million pounds.
Old Master paintings are Luke's principal passion and he has a commitment to scholarly research and connoisseurship which has resulted in a number of significant discoveries on behalf of his clients.
Luke has a particular interest in landscape painting, historical portraiture, the Dutch Golden Age, Venetian art, and the Victorian painter William Powell Frith.
Luke joined the Cheffins Commercial Department as a graduate surveyor in 2015, having undertaken work experience in the same department during 2012 and 2013. Since joining Cheffins, Luke has gained experience in the retail, office and industrial sectors, establishing a detailed knowledge of a range of commercial property types throughout Cambridgeshire. Luke is a qualified member of the RICS and has a BSc in Real Estate.
Luke specialises in the acquisition and disposal of industrial premises, offices and open storage land, with a majority of his work being conducted in Cambridge, Ely, Newmarket, Haverhill and Saffron Walden. Luke's particular focus is on ‘heavy' industrial instructions and open storage land.
Outside of his typical role, Luke has acted for a well-known East Anglian charity since 2016, helping the charity to expand its retail presence in Cambridgeshire.

Michael joined Cheffins in 2017 and is a Chartered Surveyor who has spent his entire career of almost 40 years working in Cambridge. During that time he has built up an in-depth knowledge of both the local area and the commercial property market.
Michael's specialises in agency and development work with a particular focus on office and laboratory property. He is heavily involved in the burgeoning life science market, acting on behalf of both occupiers and landlords/developers on a number of the major schemes around Cambridge.

Philip is a Chartered Surveyor and RICS Registered Valuer with over 30 years' experience in the Cambridge commercial property market. He joined Cheffins in 1998 to establish the commercial department and has been an equity director since 2001.
Philip has a wide range of experience in commercial agency and investment and development matters, particularly in respect of the industrial and business space markets. He also advises a number of clients on property strategy and carries out formal valuations.
He is a former Trustee, and now Ambassador, of Cambridgeshire Community Foundation; a Board member of The Commercial Property Network (CPN) and has been Cheffins' Joint Managing Partner since 2017.

Richard joined Cheffins' Ely office in March 1999. Richard has experience in selling all types of properties from apartments through to small farms and large period homes.
Richard is a member of the National Association of Estate Agents and specialises in carrying out market appraisals and selling properties in Ely and the surrounding villages whilst also overseeing the running of the Ely office residential sales department.
Ryan joined the Cheffins Haverhill office as a negotiator in 2009 and progressed to Director. Ryan has a vast knowledge of the local property market including villages within a 10-15 mile radius of Haverhill.
Ryan specialises in the valuation of property within Haverhill and the surrounding villages. Ryan is AssocRICS qualified in valuation and surveying.
Throughout the course of the year Ryan and the Haverhill team have spent time volunteering with REACH, a local charity. A donation point is located within the Haverhill office for the public to bring in any donations.

Sarah joined Cheffins as Head of Residential Lettings in February 2016 and has 36 years' experience within the property marketplace in and around the Cambridge area. In 2019 Sarah was invited to join the Partnership Board and is currently Head of Residential, overseeing the Sales and Lettings department in five locations.
Sarah specialises in Lettings and Sales and is a qualified member of the National Association of Letting Agents and the National Association of Estate Agents.
Sarah ensures that staff and clients are kept up to date with the ever-changing legislation that surrounds the property market and that Cheffins continues to offer excellent customer service to our clients.

In a career spanning over 40 years, Steven has been ‘in the trade' since he left school; starting with a jewellery manufacturers in London's Hatton Garden. He was director of a jewellery company specialising in antique jewellery, watches and silver, before joining London jewellers, Asprey, where he was in charge of the gemstone department. He sat on the board of directors of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain, and worked at the London Assay office, where he became a recognised expert in identifying fakes and forgeries of antique silverware, advising and lecturing to BBC antiques roadshow experts, trading standards departments and Fine Art Societies.
Steve joined Cheffins in 2018 as Head of the Jewellery, Silver and Watches department.
Steven is a FGA & DGA qualified gemmologist and has a lifetime's experience in dealing with jewellery, silver and watches.
