In the pre-deployment stages, we managed to generate consensus with a minimum of disruption on the management team. They remained focused on bringing the mine online. The obvious next question was, could we manage the deployment in a similar way?... For the software deployment, once again, we abandoned conventional wisdom in favor of a shift in focus. We offered management the choice between a conventional deployment and our engineered rapid deployment. We explained the costs, benefits and risks. The company selected rapid deployment. Some risk was part of their culture. Bringing a mine online is not usually a pretty thing to watch.
