One day as we were shopping the aisles of a local pet nutrition store, an employee with a bird on his shoulder saw us pick up the bag of food we had Oliver on for a year and stopped us on the way up to the cash register. He introduced himself and asked us about our cat. We explained to this bird loving employee that our Oliver had pretty bad hairballs and that he needed to be on this food. He took the bag from my husband's arms and showed us the ingredients on back. He pointed to the first ingredient and read "Chicken By-Product" with a disgusted tone… I looked at the employee and asked what was so bad about by-product?
