Electrowetting in the past has been a scientific phenomenon kept in the labs of physicists and chemists. In recent years, however, the electrowetting phenomenon has been incorporated into consumer devices. You can find a variable focusing liquid lens in your camera phone, a low power electrowetting display in e-readers (and computers in the near future), and electrowetting fluid controls in digital microfluidic lab on a chip devices.
