MELINA OIKONOMOU

Melina Oikonomou was born and raised in Athens, Greece, where she studied Fashion and Costume Design. She gained her Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Design from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Wales, UK, and her Master of Fine Arts in Scenic Design from the Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, FL... Her work for the theatre, opera, television, and cinema includes, but is not limited to, costume design, set design, poster art, make up design, puppetry, mask design, and scenic painting. She has worked in many countries including Greece, Cyprus, the United Kingdom, and the United States with professional and community theatre companies, as well as in children's theatre workshops, and specialized theatre organizations for people with mobility challenges. Her experience also includes teaching both elementary level in Greece and college level in the United States.
