Votran's mission is to identify and safely meet the mobility needs of Volusia County. This mission will be accomplished through a courteous, dependable and an environmentally-sound team commitment to quality service... The Volusia County Council created Volusia County's public transportation system, called Votran, in 1975 and is a service of Volusia County Government. The Volusia County Transit Services Division has general oversight of the transit system, including financial and service planning matters and operates out of the Volusia County Mobility Management Center in South Daytona. The division contracts with First Transit to provide operations and maintenance for the system. Votran provides transportation to the majority of urban and rural areas of the county with a fleet of 70 revenue-producing fixed route buses and 79 paratransit vehicles...
