GEOBOXERS

GeoBoxers is a Danish company founded by Simon Lyngby Kokkendorff, Thorbjørn Nielsen and Nynne Sole Dalå. We are all experts in our own field within the world of geodata. Until spring of 2014 we worked together at the Danish Geodata Agency. We conceived and performed the concept of "Denmark in Minecraft", including full data processing and technical rollout. To this day it remains the single largest application of geodata for gamification worldwide... GeoBoxers bring real-life geodata in play - 3D play. We are experts in shaping, transforming and combining geographic data into voxels for use in 3D gaming and visualization platforms. We combine mathematical transformation with extensive geodesy know-how to allow landscapes, cities, mines etc. to unfold in 3D. Our approach and experience opens up new possibilities to introduce the real world in gaming for education, citizen involvement, tourism… and fun...
