Alix R. Rubin

Alix Rubin founded Rubin Employment Law in 2010 to protect employers from disgruntled employees so everyone can get back to business. The firm advises employers in best employment practices to help them prevent lawsuits, works with employers subject to Department of Labor audits, and conducts internal workplace investigations of employee misconduct. Rubin Employment Law also represents employers faced with an employment lawsuit in the areas of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblowing, employee classification, wage and hour, reductions in force, confidentiality, non-competition, and non-solicitation agreements, family and medical leave, and reasonable accommodations. Alix worked in public relations and journalism before graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1996. She is admitted to the bar in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Before starting her own firm, Alix was a litigation associate at two major New Jersey firms and a partner at the New Jersey office of a small New York firm. She also is of counsel to Clark Guldin in Montclair and to The Ellis Law Group in New York City. Alix served on the Board of Trustees of Volunteer Lawyers for Justice from its inception and is a former director of the Wharton Alumni Club of New Jersey. She currently serves as a court-appointed mediator in New Jersey and has been selected to the New Jersey Super Lawyers* list every year since 2017.

Ashley V. Whitney - Founder

Ashley Whitney works closely with our owner and founder, Alix Rubin, and also independently to help employers prevent and resolve disputes with their employees, whether through counseling, negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation. Before joining Rubin Employment Law, Ashley was a senior associate at a mid-sized regional law firm, where she practiced general commercial litigation, including employment law. She represented businesses and their owners in contract disputes, corporate dissolutions, and claims of minority oppression, breach of fiduciary duty, and common-law fraud, as well as general tort claims and statutory violations. Ashley also advised employers on matters involving employee complaints, use of sick time/medical leave, disciplinary disputes, employment terminations, employee contracts, and the enforcement of confidentiality, non-competition, and non-solicitation agreements. Prior to that, she was a litigation associate at a boutique employment law firm, where she represented private company and public sector employees in employment-related claims. Ashley earned her law degree from Rutgers Law School in 2013 and is admitted to the bar in New Jersey and New York. She was selected to the New Jersey Super Lawyers* Rising Star list in 2020 and 2022 and the New Jersey Super Lawyers* list in 2023.

Keiry Rodriguez

Keiry Rodriguez is an integral part of our legal team. Before joining Rubin Employment Law, Keiry worked as a legal assistant and paralegal for more than four years in various practice areas, including criminal, immigration, and employment law. In her previous position, Keiry and the attorney she worked with handled many wage and hour cases on behalf of employers. Keiry received her bachelor of science degree in criminal justice from New Jersey City University and her master of arts degree in criminal justice from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Outside of work, Keiry volunteers in a nonprofit organization that helps families with immigration issues, as well as a Salvadoran youth group.
