With course offerings in coatings, electrical, outside machinist, pipefitting, sheet metal, welding and structural fitting, the Marine Trade Training program offers entry-level skills needed to begin the journey to a fulfilling career... Applicants must be selected by a VSRA Member Company to participate in the Marine Trade Training Program. You'll complete your information form. Once selected, you will be contact by someone from the Virginia Ship Repair Association to arrange an interview. You'll then be directed to enroll in one of our courses at a local Community College... Welders harness intense heat to fabricate and put together metal parts which are critical to the structure of a ship. If you're detailed, focused, and interested in working with a wide variety of different materials, welding may be the future you're looking for!
