Hi, I'm Barb. I'm so glad you've found your way here. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for treating anxiety disorders.. I have a background in pediatric nursing and as an RN have worked extensively with children and their families in hospital settings and then as a therapist in outpatient clinics. In my private practice I specialize in treating adults with moderate to severe anxiety, especially emetophobia and OCD... Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or CBT with exposure and response prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or I-CBT are my primary treatment approaches. CBT is a well-researched, evidence-based treatment for anxiety disorders and I-CBT has been shown to help OCD sufferers for whom ERP was not helpful.
