Walker Tree Service was founded by John Walker in October 1996 when the surprise snowstorm hit the Northland. I started out with a pick-up and a trailer, a desire to own my own business, and the rest is history... I started in the mid-'80s in the lawn and tree maintenance business at a large company south of the river. I was the manager there, head of training and operations. I then moved on to trimming power lines for Kansas City Power and Light. When the snowstorm hit in October 1996, I took the opportunity to start my own business. In the last 22 years, I have seen the increased growth in the tree care industry. We are always trying to improve our company. We are members of Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA), International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), and Better Business Bureau (BBB).
