Alex has been an administrative coordinator at Sapling Financial Consultants Inc. since September 2020. She graduated from the Ludwig Maximilian University (LMU) of Munich, Germany, where she obtained an MA in computational linguistics. Prior to joining the company, Alex was the personal assistant of Dr. Mariantoni, a professor at the University of Waterloo, Canada. As a personal assistant, she organized lecture notes and helped produce video lectures for remote teaching; she additionally helped with a number of financial and publication-related tasks.

Ali Rezaei is a highly skilled data analyst with extensive experience in research and statistical analysis. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science and has a strong background in data analysis and statistical interpretation. Ali has worked as a researcher at the Biomotion Lab at York University where he provided technical support, developed software applications for statistical modeling, and collaborated with teams to identify insights from data analysis. In addition to his research experience, Ali has worked as a data analyst and Statistician at University Health Network, where he prepared statistical analysis plans, resolved data integrity issues, and performed data cleaning and preparation.
Ali possesses a wide range of technical skills, including proficiency in SQL, Power BI, MATLAB, R and Python. His attention to detail, analytical and problem solving mindset, and commitment to delivering high-quality results make him a valuable asset in any data-driven environment. Ali is excited to leverage his skills and experience to contribute to the success of clients in his future endeavours.

Arman Singh has 2+ years of experience in creating and managing relationships with PE, VC and IB firms. He has experience scaling start ups in the Fin tech industry by increasing pipeline and brand recognition.
Chris Vyse has a long (40 plus years) career in opening and building long-term business relationships in the high-tech and HR Technology industries. In 2022, he retired from full-time work after more than 15 years with O.C. Tanner Canada, the leader in the employee recognition and engagement industry.
At Sapling Financial Consultants, Chris is working with the firm's leadership and sales team to continue the Company's growth trajectory.
Many years ago, Chris graduated from IVEY with a MBA and from Queen's University with a B.Sc.

Dave is a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Consultant with Sapling. Upon graduating from undergraduate studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, he worked for four years at a mid-size accounting firm. His time in public accounting gave him exposure to numerous companies in diverse industries, and a keen eye for analyzing financial statements. After cutting his teeth in public accounting, Dave furthered his education by completing a Master of Finance degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, to complement his background.
During his spare time, Dave is an avid sports fan, cyclist, reader, and enjoys learning about Canadian history.

Dean is the chair of Sapling's Advisory Council, and a financial adviser to entrepreneurs and significant investors. Formerly, he was a Senior Tax Partner at PWC and he earned his Bachelor of Commerce at University of Toronto.
Eren Gunes is a recent graduate from the University of Toronto where he studied Physics and Astrophysics. During university, he gained expertise in scientific computing, statistics, and data analysis. Through his scientific background, he gained versatile writing and presenting skills to effectively communicate quantitative analysis to different audiences.
While conducting physics experiments in his laboratories and researching topics such as the effects of the pandemic on plastic pollution, Eren worked efficiently with groups from different branches. Additionally, his experience managing club activities provided him with organizational and leadership skills.
His work at Sapling involves calculating key performance metrics for different types of businesses such as large distributors or service providers. He has automated and simplified reporting systems with integrations into various services businesses use. Using SQL, C#, Python, or DAX he manages and analyses data from various parts of businesses. He is passionate about applying his creativity and problem-solving skills to help clients.

He is a founding member of the Advisory Council of the Development Partner Institute (DPI), a past Chairman of the Canada Mining Innovation Council (CMIC), past CEO and director of Alloycorp Mining Inc., and a former director of Royal Gold, NexGen Energy, IAMGold, Orvana Minerals, Volta Resources, Canplats Resources, and several other TSX-listed mining companies.

Maria is a seasoned Senior Management Consultant with more than 16 years of experience in consulting and industry acting at various capacities, leading projects, secondment assignments, and acting as an advisor to management.
Megan Wismer is a recent graduate of the Master of Science in Management, Business Analytics program from the Ivey Business School at the University of Western Ontario. While completing her degree, Megan volunteered as a Project Lead for the Pro Bono Analytics and Strategy Collective, as well as the Vice President of the Sustainability Club. Prior to this, she completed a Bachelor of Science, with an Honours Specialization in Statistics at the University of Western Ontario. During this degree, she completed research for optimizing hospital bed allocations to reduce the need for hallway medicine. Megan joins Sapling with expertise in statistical modelling and data analytics, as well as the ability to translate her technical knowledge to the business world.
Megan has worked as an Analytics Development Student at Bruce Power, where she created Power BI solutions for various internal stakeholders. She has also worked as a Reporting and Analytics Assistant at WFCU Credit Union, where she leveraged her analytical expertise to reconfigure branch hours to better serve customers. In her free time, Megan enjoys kayaking, hiking, travelling, and finding new recipes to cook.

Richard Lee is a recognized coach and advisor within the technology sector and has a wealth of consulting experience. He applies his expert knowledge and industry experience to help technology entrepreneurs and executives solve business problems. Richard is a graduate of the University of Leicester with a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Economics, and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
His early career began with Deloitte, where he spent the next 29 years working at various levels and sectors of the business. He began at Deloitte UK as a Consultant and progressed to the Senior Manager role working on consulting projects within the private and public sectors, including the major privatizations of the gas, water and electricity supply industries. As a Senior Manager, he completed a two-year secondment to Deloitte Australia to found a telecom and media consulting practice. Richard then joined Braxton Associates, Deloitte's strategy consulting practice, working with telcos in Canada and the USA on a range of strategic issues.
Richard was promoted to Partner at Deloitte Canada and focused on developing and implementing customer-focused strategies for leading North American enterprises in the technology, media and telecom sectors. He then moved into the Human Capital practice focusing on talent strategies and change management, where he provided advice on a wide range of strategic and human capital business issues to leading companies of all sizes.
After his time at Deloitte, Richard worked with Aequitas Innovations on a project to streamline the capital formation process for private companies. He is now an Executive in Residence with the Ted Rogers School of Management, working with MBA students to provide insights into the Canadian consulting profession. He is also a member of Deloitte's Alumni Advisory Council and acts as an Advisor for GIMME360.

Rob is a co-founder and the CEO of Sapling. After indulging his penchant for learning about anything and everything in his earlier university days, he "wisened up" and found a job in investment management. While at Artemis Investment Management, a $2 billion Bay Street investment firm, Rob developed deep financial modelling skills through researching over 100 publicly-traded companies. He also oversaw more than $150 million of client money. His successes saw him promoted twice, ending as Associate Portfolio Manager.
After three years at Artemis, Rob joined KPMG LLP as a Senior Consultant in their Strategy & Operations group, with the hopes of being closer to actual business decisions. There, he applied his modelling skills to a high profile engagement while deepening his expertise in database analytics. When he got tired of seeing the inside of a plane every Monday and Friday, Rob joined Bell Canada Finance, supporting the Wholesale business unit, where he and a colleague built most of the financial models setting Wholesale's pricing on big deals with telecom resellers.
Thomas Xu recently joined Sapling in 2024 after earning his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto, majoring in Physics and Economics. With a lifelong fascination for particles and universe, Thomas is driven by curiosity. At University of Toronto, he enrolled in several particle physics and quantum mechanics courses, where he was profoundly inspired by the wisdom of physicists. His interest in economics led him to explore the world of finance. To advance his literacy in finance, he is currently a CFA Level II Candidate and passed the part I of the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) certification in 2023. Outside of his professional pursuits, Thomas enjoys watching the NBA and playing basketball in his free time as a long-time basketball fan.

Wendi Chen is a third-year student at the University of Toronto, pursuing majors in Economics and Human Biology. With previous experience interning at a private equity firm and serving as an undergraduate research assistant at Toronto Western Hospital, Wendi brings a multifaceted skill set to her role as a Marketing Intern at Sapling Financial Consultant.
