WILLIAM F - Key Persons

Born and raised in Middle Tennessee, Tony is a graduate of Tennessee Technological University and received his Law degree in 1992 from the Nashville School of Law. Licensed to practice law in 1992, he is a dedicated advocate for those who find themselves in need of legal representation. He has worked as an Assistant DA, Deputy DA, and as the Acting District Attorney in both the 13th and 7th Judicial Districts. He has recently retired from the State after 30 years, and is now in private practice in the Middle Tennessee. Throughout his 30-year career, he has been an advocate for those in situations beyond their control, and with experience on both sides of the court room. Tony is a highly praised member of the legal community, winning the District Attorney's Conference President's Award in 2019. He has abundant experience in the courtroom. Tony has tried hundreds of jury trials, ranging from DUI to 1st degree murder cases. He is one of only a handful of lawyers in this area that has tried death penalty cases. Needless to say, Tony feels at home in a trial setting. Originally from Jackson County, Cookeville has been his home for over 40 years. William Roberson has practiced law in the 13th Judicial District of Tennessee for nearly 30 years. His practice focuses on litigation, and he regularly appears in the Circuit, Chancery, and General Sessions courts of this state. William has a passion for helping clients in their time of legal-need. William received his undergraduate degree at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky and graduated with an emphasis in finance and business administration. He continued his studies at the University of Tennessee- College of Law in Knoxville, Tennessee. He has been licensed since 1995. He began his practicing as an Assistant District Attorney before going on to practice in the private sector. He first worked with an established firm and eventually branching off to work independently in 2000. Since practicing independently, William has expertly represented clients in criminal and civil litigation. He has also previously served as President of the Putnam County Bar Association. He spends his free time as an instrument-rated private pilot and is a lifelong resident of Cookeville, Tennessee. William continues to enjoy living in the area and loves being an active member of the community.
