A longtime resident of Metro-East, Dr. Hill originates from Edwardsville. College education includes the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point and the University of Illinois at Champaign - Urbana. His degrees include a Bachelors of Veterinary Science (1975), and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Illinois in 1977. Dr. Hill was named to the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society as part of the top 10% of his graduating class of 1981.
Dr. Hill founded Hillside Pet Clinic, formerly known as Collinsville Small Animal Hospital, in 1981. Since then, Dr. Hill has been nominated twice to Who's Who in Veterinary Medicine. He was awarded the 9 Lives Veterinary Excellence Award, and Friend of the Humane Society Award.
Dr. Hill's professional participation includes membership in the American Veterinary Medical Association, Illinois State Veterinary Medical Association, and the Southern Illinois Veterinary Medical Association where he was also Past President. Also, he served as a member on the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine Alumni Board.
One of his proudest accomplishments has been to be a member of the Illinois Academy of Veterinary Medicine. Membership involved obtaining 100 hours or more of continuing education every two years which is two and a half times the minimum required by the state for license retention.
Dr. Hill community involvement has included being a supporter of the Collinsville Animal Shelter, and Lab rescue.
Dr. Hill resides in Collinsville with his beloved wife of 42 years, Diane. Together, they have raised five children and now find great joy in their seven grandchildren. Dr. Hill and Diane are members of Saint Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville, where he also serves as an Ordained Deacon since 2012, after five years formation involvement.
