Dr Hughie Tsang

Dr Tsang is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist and an Ophthalmic Surgeon having graduated from his medical degree in Queensland in 1998. He has worked in various Ophthalmology Departments of several major hospitals in New South Wales for over 15 years, including The Prince of Wales Hospital, the Sydney Eye Hospital and The Sutherland Hospital. Dr Tsang has published widely in peer-reviewed ophthalmology journals and also mentors trainee ophthalmologists both within NSW and overseas. His regular surgical lists include Cataract, Pterygium, Glaucoma Surgery, Blepharoplasties, and Squint surgery. He is experienced in looking after patients with cataract, glaucoma, pterygium, dry eyes, complex general ophthalmology including paediatric ophthalmology, and strabismus eye conditions. Dr Hughie Tsang is fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin. Dr Hughie Tsang is a Paediatric Ophthalmic Surgeon. He studied medicine in Queensland and moved to New South Wales for ophthalmology training. He undertook a Paediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver, Canada. He has been appointed to a Staff Specialist position at Sydney Children's Hospital in Randwick.

Dr John Downie

Dr John Downie is a Medical Retina Specialist, Senior Vitreoretinal Surgeon and Complex Cataract Surgeon. He studied Medicine at the University of Sydney, graduating with Honours in 1987, and trained as an Ophthalmologist at the Sydney Eye Hospital, where he was the Professorial Senior Registrar in 1995. Dr Downie undertook further sub-specialised training as a retinal specialist at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London as a Vitreoretinal Surgical Fellow, under the prestigious Renee and Francis Hock Research Fellowship. Dr Downie is the first retinal surgeon to work and operate in Sydney's South and the Wollongong region, and has been caring for patients with retinal and cataract diseases since 1999. He routinely accepts difficult cataract referrals from his surgical colleagues and has performed a considerable number of both cataract and vitreoretinal procedures during his career.

Dr Kimberley Tan

Dr Tan is a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmology. He completed his Medical degree in Sydney and Ophthalmology training in Melbourne. He undertook advanced subspecialist fellowship training in the United Kingdom and Canada. Dr Tan is a Lecturer in Ophthalmology at both the University of Sydney and the University of New South Wales. He has been an examiner for the Royal Australian College of Ophthalmologists. He has lectured and published at national and international peer-reviewed forums. Dr Tan consults in all areas of comprehensive ophthalmology and has subspecialist interests in micro-incision cataract surgery, strabismus (squint), paediatric ophthalmology and neuro-ophthalmology. He is Head of the Department of Paediatric Ophthalmology at Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick and a Visiting Consultant Ophthalmologist at Royal North Shore Hospital. He runs a Neuro-ophthalmology/Adult Strabismus clinic at Royal North Shore Hospital. He is a "visionary" for Sight for All, having worked with the charity trying to address reversible blindness through Asia. He has travelled and worked in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos with Sight for All.

Dr Magda Guzowski

Alongside clinical Ophthalmology, Magda is a respected academic in her field. She is a regular attendee and presenter at national and international conferences and seminars, and has seen her work published in peer-reviewed journals, such as the American Journal of Ophthalmology, Ophthalmology, and Clinical Experimental Ophthalmology. Magda is a consultant ophthalmologist at the Concord General Repatriation Hospital, where she supervises registrars in clinic and operating theatres, training them in the medical and surgical management of ophthalmic disease. She is an anatomy examiner for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO), and also teaches junior doctors and medical students as a Clinical Associate Lecturer for the University of Sydney. Dr Magda Guzowski is a highly experienced consultant eye surgeon, specialising in comprehensive Ophthalmology and cataract surgery. Dr Magda Guzowski is a highly experienced consultant eye surgeon, specialising in comprehensive Ophthalmology and cataract surgery. A medical graduate of the University of New South Wales, Magda went onto work at St George and St Vincent's Hospital before undertaking specialist training in Ophthalmology with Sydney Eye Hospital. She has also obtained a Masters in Public Health from the University of New South Wales.

Dr Nagi Assaad

Dr Nagi Assaad is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon who practises in General Ophthalmology and Medical Retina. He completed medical school at the University of Sydney, where he received a number of undergraduate prizes and scholarships. During his medical degree he also completed a research degree in visual physiology. While working as a junior doctor, he completed a Master of Biomedical Engineering degree at the University of New South Wales, with a focus on advanced optics, ophthalmic technology and retinal protein structure. He completed his specialist ophthalmology training at Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney, followed by a fellowship in Medical Retina and Uveitis at the internationally renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital, London. Dr Assaad has extensive experience in cataract surgery, retinal laser treatments and the use of intraocular injections for the management of retinal diseases including macular degeneration. He has been involved in teaching medical students, optometrists and ophthalmology registrars throughout his career in ophthalmology. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists. He is a Visiting Medical Officer at Prince of Wales Hospital and Sutherland Hospital. He also operates at Sydney Surgical Centre and Chatswood Private Hospital. His interests include general ophthalmology, cataract surgery, medical retina, macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and retinal vascular disease. Dr Sarah Crowe

Dr Sarah Crowe obtained her medical degree from the University of Toronto (Canada), after having completed a Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours from Mount Allison University (Canada) and University of St Andrews (Scotland), and a DPhil in Molecular Biology from Oxford University (England). After her medical training she spent six months working as a general practitioner in outlying areas, and one year as a trainee in General Medicine in South Africa. Dr Crowe trained in Ophthalmology at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick for four years, and then completed a one year fellowship sub specialising in eyelid surgery (Oculoplastics). She has been in private practice in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney since 2000. Dr Crowe is focused on eyelid surgery including skin cancer removal and reconstruction, as well as optimising visual results of cataract surgery using the latest technology and most advanced intraocular lenses. She operates at the Sydney Surgical Centre Randwick and performs minor lid procedures in her rooms.
