Because you are classified as an Independent Contractor (IC), there is a need to set you up as a partner in the legal entity, Physician Solutions, LP, so that you can be offered the benefits through this PEO relationship. All partners are required to make an initial investment; however, your investment is used to offset the cost of your benefits each month... IC indicates they want benefits and joins Physician Solutions, LP through legal contract and payment of capital contribution. This is required by law as it provides an employment platform for which group benefits can be provided.
