Douglas Higgins - Founder

As founder of MUJO, Douglas studied mechanical engineering at Imperial College London. Despite being told that it was impossible, he invented and perfected the revolutionary moving axis cam at the heart of MUJO technology after deciding there must be a better way to exercise muscles and joints over their full range of motion. Douglas manages the company's day-to-day operations and drives product development.

Dr. Asim I Bhuta

Asim is a Biomedical Engineer and Technical Lead for the MUJO team. Asim completed his Ph.D. at Imperial College, London where he investigated the causes of implant failure following total shoulder replacement, working closely with Professor Anthony M J Bull and leading orthopaedic surgeons. He brings a detailed understanding of the biomechanics of the human musculoskeletal system, the latest rehabilitation techniques including Functional Electrical Stimulation (FES) and running advanced computer simulation methods. Asim is responsible for optimising the design and performance of the MUJO Devices and their supporting clinical databases and software.

Dr. Hichem Ben Hamida

Dr Ben Hamida engages with clinical specialists across MUJO's core markets to share latest use cases, evidence and outcomes achieved using the MUJO system. He works collaboratively with specialists to develop a deep understanding of customers' specific needs to tailor bespoke product and service offerings to meet clinical objectives. Dr Ben Hamida is a Trauma Clinical Fellow at the Royal London Hospital, a specialist trauma center operating London's HEMS Air Ambulance Service. He has a Doctor of Medicine and Bachelor of Science (Neuroscience) from Barts & The London Medical School, and speaks fluent French and Arabic.

Geri McMahon

Geri is a responsible investing professional at Aon, a leading financial services firm which advises on USD4.2 trillion in assets globally. She leads Aon's RI commercial strategy, recently launching an Impact Equity Fund for pension funds and institutional investors which addresses global health, environmental and educational challenges. She is an ESG specialist and passionate about engaging with companies to deliver outperformance through building diverse and inclusive teams. Previously at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Geri was one of the first angel investors in MUJO and was Managing Director of the company between 2014 - 2017.

Jeff McBride

Jeff is MUJO's Quality Representative, working closely with the team to ensure all internal processes meet with relevant regulatory requirements for an EU-registered medical device manufacturer. Jeff maintains MUJO's Quality Management System while providing support and guidance in compiling the company medical device Technical File. Jeff has a long background in medical device software quality assurance throughout Europe and advises on issues including data protection, storage and security, software development processes and user terms and conditions.

Susanna Everitt

Susanna is a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners, having spent 36 years working in the NHS. She spent the first three years of her career in hospital medicine before moving into Primary Care. Most recently she ran a highly-rated General Practice in South Worcestershire that scored consistently high in patient satisfaction and was the recipient of a number of awards. Sue is passionate about patient involvement and self-care, and about the potential for using technology and education to provide equal quality of care to all. Sue brings an understanding of the financial pressures faced, and rapid changes currently taking place, within the NHS.
