Beth Chattin

Originally from Somerset, Beth moved to Cumbria in 2018 with her family whilst studying History and Economics at the University of Manchester. She now lives in Kendal having joined us at Milne Moser in 2021 as a Legal Assistant. In September 2022, Beth began her Law Conversion Masters part-time and is due to graduate following her first Solicitors Qualifying Exams in January 2025. Beth has worked in all departments at Milne Moser as a Legal Assistant and was promoted in 2023 to the role of Paralegal within the Private Client team where she is gaining valuable experience in Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Estate Administration. Outside of work, Beth spends time travelling to South Africa with her partner, crocheting and enjoying the excellent food and drink found in Cumbria.

Bridget R Lovell

Originally from Surrey, Bridget has lived in Kirkby Lonsdale since 2007 and joined Milne Moser Solicitors in 2015. Bridget qualified as a solicitor in 1990, having studied law at King's College, London. She initially worked in the City and specialised in commercial property for five years after qualifying but moved to live in the Lune Valley after a career break to raise her children and a spell living overseas. She returned to practice in 2010 where she now deals with a wide range of commercial and residential property transactions. Bridget has been involved in hundreds of property transactions during her career, ranging from residential sales and purchases to larger scale site acquisitions, commercial leases and business sales. Craig Roberts

Originally from Devon, Craig moved to Kendal in 2023 and joined Milne Moser Soliciitors the same year. Craig has a degree in Ancient History from Exeter University and is qualified as an FCILEx specialising in residential property, where he has dealt with hundreds of property transactions from residential sales and purchases to lease extensions and new build developments. Outside of work Craig enjoys travelling and hiking and has previously walked from Canterbury to Rome.

Hollie Dent

Hollie was born and went to school in the Lake District, before moving to London to complete her BA Degree. Upon moving back to the lakes Hollie obtained her Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) at The University of Central Lancashire before embarking on a training contract here at Milne Moser. Hollie is currently undertaking her Lawyer Practice Course (LPC) at the University of Law alongside her training contract and will qualify as a solicitor in 2025. Outside of work Hollie enjoys skiing in the winter months, and travelling as much as she can.

Ian M Jenkinson

Ian is from Ambleside and qualified in 2007 having completed his training with Milne Moser. He has been working for the firm since 2005. Ian has a degree in Law from the University of Manchester and undertook the Legal Practice Course at the University of Central Lancashire. Ian has a good deal of experience in residential and commercial property matters as well as business transactions and associated elements and he has conducted hundreds of completions during his employment with our firm.

Justine R Allen

Justine is the head of our property team and has over 20 years' experience in dealing with property matters. Justine has worked in this area since she qualified as a solicitor in 2004 and has dealt with hundreds of property transactions ranging from residential properties to farms and property developments. She is continually working to improve Milne Moser's property services. Having spent over a decade as a business leader, Justine also advises in business matters. Justine gained a degree in law from the University of Central Lancashire, before completing her post-graduate diploma in Legal Practice at the College of Law. She worked in London, before joining Milne Moser as a trainee solicitor, in 2003, and became a partner in 2008. Justine is the Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) in respect of the Law Society's Conveyancing Quality Scheme of which the firm is an accredited member. "I am extremely grateful to Justine for all her hard work over the past three years, but particularly so for the past twelve months. Thank you."

Lara Kopcke

Lara obtained her law degree and went on to further study the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, Manchester, gaining a distinction, before joining a small family firm in 2013 where she completed her training contract and qualified as a solicitor in 2017. Lara joined Milne Moser Solicitors private client department in November 2021 and continues to focus on administering estates Probate applications, Wills, Court of Protection applications and Lasting Powers of Attorney. Lara has worked in this area of law since 2014 and has handled many cases. Outside of work Lara skis most years and has recently taken up running. She enjoys travelling as a family and walking in the Lake District with her Labrador leading the way. "Lara was extremely efficient, pleasant and easy to deal with. Overall, very satisfied."

Michelle Hayes

Michelle is an Associate Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) which is a global professional body, the members of which are specialists in all aspects of inheritance and succession planning. Michelle joined our Private Client Department in March 2023. She is originally from Manchester and started her legal career following graduation from Lancaster University's Law School. Michelle spent seven years specialising in Defendant costs litigation, working for a global law firm.

Rebecca A Ladell

Rebecca joined Milne Moser in 2005 as a trainee solicitor, qualified in 2007 and became a Partner in the firm in 2013. Originally from Arnside, Rebecca has over 12 years' worth of experience in both Contentious and Non-Contentious matters. She now specialises in Residential Property, Personal Injury and Clinical Negligence, together with general Civil Litigation. Rebecca has dealt with hundreds of matters across a broad range of fields during her time at Milne Moser and is the Firms Complaints Partner. She sat as President of Westmorland Law Society between 2015 to 2018 and continues to sit on the committee as the longest standing member. Rebecca has been a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) since 2011. Outside of work, Rebecca is a busy mum of two, and as a family, most of their free time is spent travelling and enjoying everything the outdoors has to offer.

Sarah Alker

Originally from Kent, Sarah graduated with a degree in German and Spanish from the University of Exeter before embarking on her career with Jordans (now Vistra) in their corporate legal services department in Bristol. After six years with Jordans, Sarah moved to Calgary in Canada to work as a legal assistant in business/corporate law before moving back to the UK in 2017, joining Milne Moser Solicitors as a conveyancing legal assistant the same year. In 2019, Sarah commenced working as a trainee legal executive with Milne Moser Solicitors in Kendal. She is a CILEX* Advanced Paralegal (MCILEX) and is currently undertaking the final academic stages of her training, before aiming to qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive. Sarah works on residential sales and purchases, first registrations, transfers of equity and other property related transactions. Sarah lives in Kendal with her husband and young son, and enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking and camping.

Suzanne Kavanagh

Suzie qualified as a solicitor in September 2003 and is the head of Milne Moser's criminal law department, and has extensive experience in criminal law. She has prosecuted and defended, enabling her to evaluate a case from both perspectives. She has helped thousands of individuals at the police station and the court and can represent on a private basis as well as under legal aid order if granted.
