ORCHESTRA OMAHA

Orchestra Omaha, a community orchestra based in Omaha, was founded by a group of local musicians in 1998 under the name Omaha Municipal Orchestra. It is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to promoting music in the community. The Reverend Steven M. Grant served as the founding Music Director of the Omaha Municipal Orchestra from 1998 to 2001, followed by Dr. Christopher Stanichar for the 2002-2005 seasons. During the 2005-06 season, the orchestra was conducted by a series of guests. The eighth season saw the introduction of the new name, Orchestra Omaha, with Kenneth Meints as the latest Music Director. Orchestra Omaha continues to thrive and make a significant impact in the music community of Omaha.
