NORTHWEST BERGEN COUNTY UTILITIES AUTHORITY

The Northwest Bergen County Utilities Authority (NBCUA) was established in 1952 in order to provide sewage treatment services to the municipalities in the northwest section of Bergen County. Originally established as a sewer authority, the Authority was authorized by NJSA 40:14b to reorganize as a utilities authority in 1981. As an independent agency, the NBCUA has the authority to enter into service agreements, to set rates and fees for services and to sell bonds... Northwest Bergen County Utilities Authority is a public water treatment utility dedicated to environmentally sound processing of wastewater and returning fresh water to the natural environment.
