HITAP - Key Persons
Benjarin Santatiwongchai is Head of Communication for HITAP. Having studied BSc in Pharmacy from Mahidol University, her knowledge in current and emerging medical technologies and interventions has led her to become involved with Health Technology Assessment. In 2012, she completed her MSc in Health Economics at the University of York. She is now applying her medical and economic background as well as passion in communication and media in amplifying the impact of communication for HITAP.

Dr. Kanlaya Teerawattananon is a medical doctor and ophthalmologist by training. She had worked in rural hospitals in the northern and northeastern parts of Thailand for more than 10 years before moving to a suburban hospital in Samut Prakan in 2007. In addition to her medical role, she has intense interest in health system and policy research. She has constantly conducted system and policy research and published in leading academic journals in Thailand and International level. She also graduated bachelor degree in laws from an open university and has worked as part-time researcher in Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP) since 2009.
Lily Ingsrisawang earned her Ph.D in Biostatistics from Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University, U.S.A. She is a faculty member at the Department of Statistics, Kasetsart University at Bangkok, Thailand. Lily's main work is teaching graduate courses in statistics such as Linear Models, Survival Analysis and Advanced Regression Analysis, etc. Besides teaching, she enjoys working as a researcher for challenge projects with the HITAP's researcher team. One research project that she currently involved is Evaluation of outcomes and determinants of cervical cancer screening pilot project using visual inspection with acetic acid plus sequential pap smear in Chiangmai and Nakon Si Thammarat provinces. Meanwhile, she has another important role of statistical guidance for data analysis in development projects

Miss Pornpimol Sansaard had her bachelor degree in Management Sciences from Chiangrai Rajabhat University. After graduation, she had five experiences working as an accountant in a private company before came to HITAP. At present, she works as financial officer. Her duties range from research project financial management to accounting management.

Miss Sitaporn Youngkong is a pharmacist and health economist, who is currently a researcher of Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP). She is holding a bachelor of Pharmacy from Chiangmai University and a master in Hospital Pharmacy from Mahidol University (her master thesis entitled "Cost of cerebral infarction in societal perspective: a case study at Prasat neurological Institute"). She was a lecturer at Srinakharinwirot University during 1997-2007. In 2006, she was invited by International Health Policy Program (IHPP) to join in its projects including HITAP establishment. During 2007-2011, she has been awarded a fellowship by World Health Organization to pursue her PhD study at Radboud University, the Netherlands, where she received her PhD in Medical Sciences (her PhD thesis entitled "Multi-criteria decision analysis for priority setting of health interventions in Thailand"). Her interest includes Discrete Choice Experiments, Mulit-criteria decision analysis, Priority setting in health care, and Health economics.

Natthida Malathong received Bachelor's in Public Health form major of Public Health, School of Health Science, Mae Fah Luang University in 2015. She start working in HITAP's research assistant sine 2015 to May 2019 and currently working as a Operations Management Associate
Paiboon Pitayatienanan is a pharmacist. He graduated from Department of Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Mahidol University in 2004. After graduated, he worked in the Pharmaceutical Department, Rajavithi Hospital. Now he has been studying in Master of Science in Pharmacy Administration (International program), Mahidol University and working as a research assistant at Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP). His current research is impact of obesity on economics and quality of life in Thailand.
Pattara Leelahavarong, a researcher at HITAP, graduated a Master's degree of Science in Pharmacy (Pharmacy administration) from Mahidol University in 2009 as well as graduated a Bachelor's degree of Science in Pharmacy from Mahidol University in 2004. After graduated a Bachelor degree, she started her career as a pharmacist in the Pharmacy department at Nonghan Hospital, Udonthani province for 3 years. During studying in Master degree, she had an opportunity to join the Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP) as a research assistant in 2008 along with developing the Master thesis in the area of health economic evaluation. Since 2008, she has worked with HITAP and has been interested in research related to health technology assessment using economic modelling, systematic review and meta-analysis, and national level survey for primary data collection. At the present time, she is studying Ph.D. in Health Economics, University of Glasgow, Glasgow, UK
Pritaporn Kingkaew has been a researcher at HITAP since 2007. She graduated from a joint programme between Srinakharinwirot University, Thailand and the University of Nottingham, UK in 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. In 2009, she was awarded the HITAP scholarship to pursue a Master's degree in Health Economics from the University of York and graduated in 2010. She was awarded the Capacity Building on Health Policy and System Research (CapHPSR) fellowship to pursue PhD from 2014-2018. She has completed her PhD from the University of Leeds, United Kingdom in 2018. Her PhD research focuses on designing and evaluating mobile health behaviour change interventions for smoking cessation in Thailand.

Suthasinee graduated a Bachelor's degree of Science in Pharmacy from Chiang Mai University in 2003. She worked in the Pharmacy department at Phatthana Nikhom Hospital, Lop Buri, in 2003 and Chiang Rai Prachanukroh Hospital, Chiang Rai as a pharmacist in 2005. Thereafter, she continued her study in Master of Science in Pharmacy (Pharmacy Administration) at Mahidol University in 2010.
At the present, she is working as a researcher at HITAP. She has previously worked on "priority setting of health research topics in Thailand" and "Safety and effectiveness of intravitreal bevacizumab and ranibizumab injections for treatment of retinal disease patients: an observational study". She has been interested in research related to health technology assessment and cost analysis research.

Yot Teerawattananon is a founding leader of the Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP), which is a semi-autonomous research institute of Thailand's Ministry of Public Health. The works of HITAP have been used to inform policy decisions regarding the adoption of medicines, medical devices, health promotion and disease prevention programmes under the Universal Health Coverage Scheme and the national pharmaceutical reimbursement list, the National List of Essential Medicines.
Yot has gone on to provide technical advice to many national and international agencies such as: the Gates Foundation, WHO, World Bank, Asian Development Bank and the Centre for Global Development (CGD), giving him a broad knowledge of key issues in global health. He is also one of the founders of HTAsiaLink, a regional networks comprising of governmental health technology assessment agencies in South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Bhutan and Thailand.
