Annette joined ReFrame Ministries nearly 10 years ago. She oversees donor development and accounting for our Canadian donors. Before coming to ReFrame, Annette served as executive assistant to both the President and Development Director at Concordia Theological Seminary.
Annette and her husband live in southern Ontario and have three children and four grandchildren. In her spare time, you can find Annette spending time with her family or teaching an oil painting class.
Brian joined ReFrame Ministries in 2013 as a communications intern and then returned to the staff in 2018 after working with our partner ministry, Resonate Global Mission, in the Christian Reformed Church for four years.
He spends his time writing stories and other copy for the advancement team as well as planning communications strategy. He enjoys his role because he gets to keep up with a wide range of ministry activities from many parts of the world.

Bryan joined the ReFrame Ministries team in 2017 with a passion to help churches reach people with the gospel using effective church communications. As producer for Church Juice, Bryan helps congregations energize their church communications by overseeing the Church Juice blog, publishing in-depth ebook resources, and developing training on topics like marketing, branding, social media, internal communications, and website development.
Bryan brings years of communication and outreach experience gained both in full-time church ministry and the field of church website design. Bryan and his wife, Denae, enjoy Michigan summers, Detroit sports, and family time.

Chris Hunt started at ReFrame Ministries in 2013. Chris loves to see the gospel change lives. He manages marketing campaigns that introduce new users to ReFrame so that they can get the most out of their experience. Chris frequently blogs for all of our programs. Prior to ReFrame, he marketed children's programs at Awana. Chris served 16 years in the U.S. Navy.
Chris holds a B.A. from Alma College and a M.A. from Northern Illinois University. Chris and his wife, Sarah, have five children. In his spare time, he enjoys playing board games.

Courtney Jacob joined ReFrame Ministries in 2006. Her passion for God's matchless Word infuses every episode of Groundwork. She also shepherded the growth ReFrame's prayer ministry. Before stepping into her current role, Courtney served in a variety of writing and production capacities with us.
Courtney has a B.A. in Communications from Calvin College and an M.Div. from Northern Seminary. Courtney and her husband, Luke, have three sons. In her free time, she enjoys being outside and playing the flute.

Daniel joined ReFrame in 2019 and develops digital communications for both the advancement team and ReFrame's English programs.
Daniel grew up internationally with missions being central to his life. He grew up as a missionary kid in Japan, and served in Cambodia for a few years before teaching in Korea and then eventually moving to the United States.

Rev. Deb Koster joined the ReFrame Ministries team in 2010 as writer, speaker, and producer for Family Fire. Passionate about encouraging relationships as they live and grow in the context of faith, Deb manages and edits a team of therapists, pastors, and writers, and interacts with the Family Fire community through social media. Before joining ReFrame, Deb served as an RN in cardiology for more than 20 years.
Deb received her M.Div. from Calvin Theological Seminary. She and her husband, Steven, enjoy leading marriage retreats and family seminars. They have three awesome adult children.

Rev. Emily Vanden Heuvel came to ReFrame Ministries in January 2019 with a desire to help people see God's love and grace in the painful moments of life. As Senior Producer of Pastoral Care, she coordinates our Prayer Team and follow-up care to those who interact with our programs. Before joining ReFrame, Emily served as a chaplain, counseling children and adults in trauma and crisis recovery.
Emily received her B.S. from Kuyper College and M.Div. from Calvin Theological Seminary. Emily and her husband, Ryan, have two children. She loves to preach and mentor kids. She also enjoys cooking, baking, and gardening.

Rev. Jeff Bulthuis came to ReFrame Ministries in 2018, at first to oversee our growing Prayer Team. With a passion to see people grow in their walk with God, he stepped over to manage the editing of the Today devotional and content strategy for all ReFrame programs. Prior to ReFrame, Jeff served as lead pastor in a congregation in Indiana.
Jeff has a B.A. in Psychology from Covenant College and an M.Div. from Calvin Theological Seminary. Jeff and his wife, Lisa, have five young children. They enjoy camping, spending time outdoors, and cheering on Chicago sports teams.
Since joining ReFrame Ministries in October 2013, Jerry has established the new media ministry as a pioneer and think tank for Chinese-speaking churches worldwide.
Originally from Hebei, China, Jerry moved to the United States in 1998. In 2004, he received an MBA from Azusa Pacific University. He is working toward a Doctor of Ministry from Calvin Theological Seminary.

Jon started at ReFrame Ministries in 2018. Passionate about utilizing digital media in audio and visual formats, Jon captures and edits program content for our English ministry programs as well as some of our international ministry teams. Prior to joining our team, Jon produced content for Michigan-based businesses and performed voice work for national commercials, video games, audiobooks, and animations.
Jon holds a B.A. from Grand Valley State University in Michigan. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing and writing music, experimenting with photography, and finding the best local eats.

Josh Larsen joined ReFrame Ministries in 2011. As editor of Think Christian, Josh challenges writers and readers to bridge the gap between faith and culture. Prior to coming to ReFrame, Josh worked for 16 years in the newspaper business, mostly as a movie critic.
Josh holds a B.A. in English and Communication Arts from Trinity Christian College. He writes about movies at LarsenOnFilm and is co-host of the Filmspotting podcast. He is the author of Movies Are Prayers: How Films Voice Our Deepest Longings. Josh and his wife, Debbie, have two daughters and reside in Chicago.

Justin Sterenberg came to ReFrame Ministries in 2013 with a passion to create elegantly simple user experiences that cultivate authenticity and community. He serves as director of the English language ministry, crafting and implementing ministry-wide strategies. Justin leads a team of marketing, web design, social media, and audio professionals focused on telling God's story in ways most accessible to media users in today's digital and mobile environment.
Justin received a B.A. in Business Communication from Calvin University. Before coming to ReFrame, he worked in project and marketing management. Justin and his wife, Thea, enjoy playing with their two dogs and spending time with family and friends.

Louise joined the ReFrame Ministries team in May 2018 as the Director of Administration. She enjoys supporting the agency in its mission of bringing the word of God to those who don't know him yet and witnessing the impact the agency has on lives around the world.
Louise joined ReFrame after many years working in financial management, most recently with Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She holds a degree in accounting from Western Michigan University as well as CPA and CMA certifications.
Louise and her husband, Jeff, have two grown children and live in Byron Center, Michigan. Some of the things Louise enjoys in her free time are family time, gardening, knitting/crafts, jigsaw puzzles, yoga, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
Marc Miller came to work at ReFrame Ministries in 2007. He manages the technical aspects of all the ReFrame websites.
Marc graduated from Calvin College with a B.A. in Communications. He put that degree to use working in the Chicago film industry for 5 years before switching to a career in web development. Marc and his wife, Sara, have two sons.

Paul began his work as ReFrame Ministries' Church and Donor Relationship Manager for Canada in 2012. Before joining the advancement team, he was a business owner and worked in sales and production in the horticultural business.
Paul and his wife, Dorothy, have three children and live in Ontario.

Rachel Syens joined ReFrame Ministries in February 2020. Passionate about forming meaningful connections in our increasingly digital world, Rachel is responsible for connecting a global audience with ReFrame Ministries through social media management of seven English-language programs, email marketing, and digital marketing strategies.

- Portuguese Ministry Leader
Hernandes became the Portuguese ministry leader in 2010. He also serves as the director of the organization Luz Para o Caminho (Light for the Way), an organization formed in partnership between ReFrame and the Presbyterian Church of Brazil. Hernandes has authored more than 100 books and is a popular conference speaker in Brazil.
Hernandes graduated from Seminário Presbiteriano do Sul in Campania and earned a Doctorate of Ministry from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS. He and his wife, Tinha, have two children.
Rev. Kurt Selles, who has worked in missions for nearly 30 years, became the Director of ReFrame Ministries in August 2012. Before joining our team, Kurt served as the Director of the Global Center at Beeson Divinity School in Birmingham, Alabama; served as a missionary with Christian Reformed World Missions (now Resonate Global Mission) in Taiwan and China; and directed the Calvin College Semester-in-China Program. Kurt is also the author of several journal articles and books on missions.
He is a graduate of Calvin College and Seminary in Grand Rapids, MI and received his PhD from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.
Kurt and his wife, Vicki, have three children and live in Grand Rapids, MI. In his spare time, Kurt enjoys reading, swimming, walking, and bird watching.
Marc joined the ReFrame's French ministry team in Burkina Faso in 2015. Before joining us, he pastored a church and served as the director of the Léo Bible School. Marc has also been instrumental in planting churches in five villages in Burkina Faso.
Marc received a degree in theology from Faculté Jean Calvin in France. He and his wife Jocelyn have three children.
Masao became the Japanese ministry leader in 1998. He was raised in a Buddhist family, but at age sixteen he borrowed a Bible. As Masao read it, he felt God speak to him. He began attending a local church and started listening to our Japanese radio program The Morning Word. A year later he committed his life to Christ. Masao studied at Kobe Reformed Seminary and then graduated from Calvin Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Masao and his wife, Tomoko, have four children and six grandchildren.
Before joining ReFrame in 2023, Youssef has pastored churches in the Egyptian Presbyterian Church denomination for more than 20 years. He is a highly respected, proven leader with a servant's heart and a team-building personality. We give thanks to God for bringing Rev. Youssef to help build the Arabic media ministry.
We are excited about the vision Rev. Youssef has for making the gospel more accessible to people in Egypt and the wider Arabic-speaking world. He will also use media to bring the gospel to the younger generation.

Ron VandenBurg joined the ReFrame Ministries team in 2014. He plans and develops projects specifically for the spiritual formation of children. His main areas of focus are the Kids Corner podcast and devotional materials. Before coming to ReFrame, Ron taught middle school for 27 years.
Ron is a graduate of Calvin University and earned a M. Ed. degree in Teaching, Learning and Development at Brock University. In his free time, he enjoys watching, writing, performing and directing local theatre productions. Ron and his wife, Rachel, have three adult children and reside in Ontario.
