The Friesian Connection is a family business started in 1984 by Robert and Arlene De Boer when they imported three Friesian Star mares from the Netherlands. From there, it expanded into a well-established breeding program, training, selling, and importing horses from the Netherlands... The Friesian Connection was started in 1984 by Robert and Arlene DeBoer, immigrants from the Netherlands. It continues today with the second generation - daughters Janice VerMerris and Amy Kroll - who focus on equine reproduction and the stallion station, and daughter Sara Wassink who manages the herd of mares. The 3rd generation of grandchildren are active in riding and training….and even the 4th generation - Bob and Arlene's great grandchildren - can be found in the barns...
