Professor Evangelos Moustakas serves as the Dean of the Department of Creative Industries and Department of Communication and Media at Canadian University Dubai (CUD). He holds a PhD from Middlesex University, London, awarded through a full scholarship. Throughout his career, Professor Moustakas has held several senior academic leadership positions across universities in Europe and the Middle East, consistently demonstrating a commitment to excellence in education and innovation.
In addition to his academic achievements, Professor Moustakas holds a higher diploma in classical guitar, regularly performing in concerts and composing original music. His diverse academic and artistic experiences have fuelled his passion for fostering creative learning environments. His innovative, practice-led educational approach seeks to bridge the gap between social, professional, and academic communities, transforming traditional learning experiences into dynamic, actionable practices.
Professor Moustakas is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the British Computer Society (BCS), and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), as well as a Senior Fellow at the Higher Education Academy. His expertise has been recognized through numerous external leadership appointments, including serving as Team Leader at the Sustainability Pavilion for EXPO2020, and Chair of the e-Marketing Special Interest Group at the Academy of Marketing in the UK. He is also a Visiting Research Associate at the Department of Business Administration at the University of Illinois, Chicago, USA, and a Research and Advisory Board member at Chandigarh University in India. His international collaborations have been further recognized with awards from Loyola University Chicago, USA, and Amity University in Dubai, UAE.
Firuz Kamalov, Professor of Mathematics at Canadian University Dubai, earned his PhD at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2011 as an Othmer Fellow, and his BA at Macalester College as a DeWitt Wallace Scholar. Dedicated to teaching and student engagement, his research spans machine learning, functional analysis, applied mathematics, statistical learning, time series forecasting, and education. Currently, Dr. Kamalov serves as the Managing Editor of the Gulf Journal of Mathematics and an Associate Editor of the Journal of Intelligent and Fuzzy Systems. He has also been a Guest Editor at several well-known journals. Dr Kamalov is a recipient of multiple research grants totaling over USD 1 million.

Dr. Lakhdar Chadli is an Assistant Professor at Canadian University Dubai. Previously, he served as an Assistant Professor at the American University in the Emirates, Al Bayan University in Abu Dhabi, the Regional School of Fine Arts at Mostaganem University in Algeria, and the Higher Institute for Performance and Audiovisual Arts (ISMAS) in Algiers. As a Media and Communication professor, he specializes in the development of film, television broadcasts, and interactive media works at the Institut National de l'Image et du Son (L'inis) in Montreal, Canada..
Beyond academia, Dr. Lakhdar Chadli is a multimedia professional with extensive experience as a director, producer, lecturer, journalist, and teacher. His background includes developing live news, talk shows, and current affairs programming. He has received four international film awards and has directed and produced over 35 documentaries. Dr. Chadli played a key role in launching regional TV channels such as MBC, Al Arabiya, Al Hadath, and O3 Production House, as well as the Abu Dhabi Television Satellite Channel, where he served as Executive Producer and Film Director for current affairs and programs, and as Supervisor of the News Research Department. Additionally, he held the position of Chief Editor and Representative for Canal France International (CFI) in the GCC region and has been a professional media trainer with the Arab Media Training Center of Visual Media and Broadcast (Arab League).
Dr. Maha Salman a LEED Accredited Professional (BD+C) architect holding a PhD in Sustainable Architecture from the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom where she got "The Vice Chancellor's Award for an Outstanding Research Degree Thesis". Dr. Maha Salman embraces numerous years of industry and academic experience in Canada and abroad. She is the author of several publications, including books, and has won a number of awards for her research work. Dr. Maha's student-centered and interactive approach leads her philosophy to create a positive, engaging, and inspiring learning environment.

Dr. Malcolm is an associate professor of Biostatistics and Epidemiology at Canadian University Dubai (CUD). He studied his PhD from University of Bristol where he continued to work as a research associate. He then worked for University of Birmingham, UK as an associate professor and maintains an honorary research fellow position there.
He has published over 100 peer-reviewed scientific articles in journals such as Nature Medicine, BMJ, Lancet Infectious Diseases, International Journal of Epidemiology, American Journal of Epidemiology, Statistics in Medicine and Statistical Methods in Medical Research, to name a few. He has been the principal/co-investigator on 15 externally funded research grants, acted as a consultant for the World Health Organization, and has given keynote and plenary talks at various international conferences.
He has attended policy meetings for the WHO, US Centers for Disease Control, European Centers for Disease Control and Public Health England.
Dr.Alkhaldi trained in social and global public health policy. He received his Doctor of Public Health Policy and Systems from the University of Basel, the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) in Switzerland where he led a comprehensive system analysis of the National Health Research System in several countries. During his 15 years in global public health, Dr.Alkhaldi has engaged in three different sectors, contributing to the development of health policies in the public sector; teaching and research; and NGO health projects and programs. His primary research interest in public health systems, HPSR, evidence-informed policymaking, HRSs, KTT, and digital health and HTA. He has served as an international expert and scientific collaborator on several committees and missions and has participated in multiple global organizations related to social and health policies and systems strengthening. Among these organizations are the WHO, COHRED, HSG, University of Basel-Swiss TPH, McGill University, Canadian Association for Global Health, Canadian Society for International Health, Emerging Voices for Global Health, and An-Najah National University. He is a member of the Higher Council for Innovation and Excellence of the State of Palestine. He is also a member and reviewer of the Editorial Boards of various international journals. Furthermore, he has travelled to and lectured in nearly 30 countries; published more than 50 articles in scientific journals, books, book chapters, policy analyses, reports, and popular media. Dr. Alkhaldi has awarded the Health System Impact Fellowship funded by the CIHR affiliated with McGill University to lead local and global research projects that aim at evaluating and strengthening the HTA, DHTs, and VBHC in HMLICs. Moreover, he has served the UNICEF-MENA and WHO-UHPR as a regional consultant and TAG expert member. Dr.Alkhaldi is also a member of scientific team of the WEF- Davos Alzheimer's Collaborative and Robert Koch Institute, contributing to provide evidence about strengthening health systems for Alzheimer's disease and building the evidence around public health emergency workforce and collaborative surveillance.

His academic journey has allowed him to engage deeply with both pedagogical theory and its practical applications in diverse educational settings. Prior to joining CUD, Nora owned and managed her own law firm, the Law Offices of Nora M. Barson, in Dana Point, California. Nora brings years of experience in both courtroom and transactional legal work to the students at CUD.
Attorney Barson's research interests are in intellectual property rights in start-up companies, cybersecurity awareness, rights for domestic workers in the GCC, and first year student retention.
