Anne Schneider

Anne Schneider has more than 20 years of experience in public relations, with a focus on the technology, outdoor retail and nonprofit sectors. Before joining Bluehouse Consulting Group, Anne was Account Manager for McKenzie Worldwide PR, where she managed media relations programs for Tektronix, e-Spirit and RFPIO. Prior to McKenzie, Anne's tech experience included her role as in-house PR Manager for WebTrends and Supervisor at WE Communications, where she spent several years managing high profile product PR campaigns for Microsoft. Anne's outdoor retail experience centered around her role as media and public relations manager for the global brand, Columbia Sportswear, where she also worked on campaigns for Mountain Hardwear and Sorel. During her time at Columbia Sportswear, Anne supervised Columbia's corporate giving and cause marketing programs, and she facilitated media interviews and special appearances for company matriarch, Gert Boyle (RIP "One Tough Mother") and CEO, Tim Boyle. Anne is currently active in supporting nonprofits. She is part-time Director of Communications and Outreach for the Pacific Northwest CSA Coalition in addition to being on the PR Advisory Councils for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and the Looptworks Foundation. Anne has a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Oregon State University and a certificate in grant writing. Anne lives in Portland, Oregon, with her husband, daughter, two cats, and her dog and writing partner, Remy.

Jamie Newton - Founder, VP

Jamie Newton provides writing, editing, photography and graphic design services for Bluehouse Consulting Group's clients as well as working as a fine artist in painting, sculpture and photography (among other arts). He co-founded Bluehouse Consulting Group, Inc. with Jennifer Allen Newton, working primarily as a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) consultant for both private and public sector clients. Jamie worked for five and a half years as GIS Manager for the City of Ashland, Oregon then re-entered the private sector in 2007, turning his technical writing, art and photography skills into case studies, logos, industrial images and other graphic designs for Bluehouse clients. Jamie's fine art painting and sculpture have been exhibited in galleries around the world. Jamie holds bachelor's degrees in philosophy and art as well as an associate's degree in architectural drafting and design. He also enjoys traveling, hiking, writing (he's a published poet) and creating noise music under his label 3 Acre Tracts. He lives in the Coast Range foothills outside of Portland, Oregon with his wife and business partner Jennifer Allen Newton.

Jennifer Allen Newton - Founder, President

Jennifer Allen Newton has more than 30 years of experience in media, public relations, analyst relations and content marketing. Since co-founding Bluehouse Consulting Group, Inc. in March 2000 with her husband and business partner Jamie Newton, Jennifer has provided strategic communications consulting, training and writing services for a variety of agencies, companies and non-profit organizations. Jennifer's specialty is bringing complex subjects to a broader audience. She has worked with clients and media in a variety of specialized industries, including technology, health, security, utilities, renewable energy, environment and industrial sectors. She has written numerous media articles and blogs under her own byline and as a co-writer and ghost writer for CEOs and other corporate executives. Her work has supported Fortune 500 companies including Microsoft, LinkedIn, Cisco, Intel, SAP and Capital One as well as startups and fast-growing companies including Crownpeak/e-Spirit, RimRiser, SheerID, Skooler, Neurotechnology, Bright Talent, Lucid Energy and InPipe Energy. Prior to starting her own business, Jennifer worked for eight years at WE Communications (formerly Waggener Edstrom Worldwide) where she developed and facilitated PR and media training programs and managed strategic planning and execution of PR programs for Microsoft Corporation and German-based software company SAP AG /SAP Americas. Jennifer's board service has included The Institute for Functional Medicine, The Functional Medicine Coaching Academy, Store to Door of Oregon and the Bear Creek Greenway Foundation. Other volunteer and community service work includes the Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center, The Pongo Fund, The Polishing Stone, The Nature Conservancy of Oregon, The Seattle Audubon Society, the Girls Initiative Network of Multnomah County, Rotary and the Sierra Club. Prior to working in PR, Jennifer spent three years as a public affairs and documentary television producer for Oregon Public Broadcasting and worked for two years in the commercial film and television industry. Jennifer has a bachelor's degree from the School of Communication at Northwestern University and has done graduate work in adult education and development. She is also a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach. Jennifer speaks French and enjoys traveling, hiking, writing, photography and making music. Jennifer lives in the Coast Range foothills outside of Portland, Oregon with her husband and business partner Jamie Newton, rescue dog Henry Blue, five chickens and three Shetland sheep.

Kathleen Callaghan

Kathleen Callaghan has more than 20 years of experience in PR, marketing and operations, with a background in the lifestyle, technology and healthcare industries. Kathleen started her career with Ketchum Public Relations, working primarily in consumer/lifestyle PR, before moving to Portland, OR to work for WE Communications (formally Waggener Edstrom Worldwide), where she managed projects for the Microsoft MSN and Windows teams. Kathleen has most recently found herself managing educational content, training, and documentation for a health insurance company that primarily serves nonprofits around the country. In between those roles, Kathleen has served as a contract writer/content developer for organizations in the healthcare, special education, and financial sectors, as well as volunteered her time to create content for nonprofit organizations, such as the Exchange Family Center in Durham, NC. Kathleen's heart lies with copywriting/content development, whether it be blog posts, video content, white papers, executive summaries, training guides, or anything in between. Due to Kathleen's broad background across many industries, she is skilled at writing for a multitude of audiences and thoroughly enjoys the challenge of bringing a compelling story to life for clients. Kathleen is also a pediatric speech-language pathologist (SLP) and worked as an SLP in Jakarta, Indonesia for three years. She continues to work part-time with families and children. She has her undergraduate degree in English Writing from the University of Pittsburgh and her Masters of Science in from Portland State University. In her spare time, Kathleen is a bean-to-bar/craft chocolate maker, who also enjoys running and getting outside with her dog, long dinner parties with friends, and tapping into all the latest podcasts. She currently lives in Southeast Portland.
