Established in 1956, the Alaska Association of Chiefs of Police (AACOP) is an organization that represents the leaders of local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in Alaska... Our members are police chiefs and executives from all areas of law enforcement in the State of Alaska. Alaska is an enormous state where most of our communities are not connected by a road system and where our law enforcement community faces challenges unique to the "Last Frontier." With many agencies having severely limited resources, we all endeavor to work together in positive partnerships to accomplish our goals. We believe that we can achieve many tasks and problem-solving much more effectively by working together as we do.
