David Benac

Kalamazoo Conservation District Board Members are highly-qualified, experienced and dedicated to the success of our district. If you are interested in becoming a Board of Director for the Kalamazoo Conservation District and are a resident of Kalamazoo County please contact KCD for a Nomination Petition. At least 60 days prior to the District's Annual Meeting (January/February meeting) candidates must file this Nomination Petition to run for the Conservation District Board. Petitions need be completed and returned to KCD's office at 5950 Portage Ave Suite B, Portage, MI before this time. Candidates are placed on a ballot and publicly elected at the District's Annual Meeting. Board of Director standard term length is four (4) years. If you are interested in getting involved but not on the KCD Board of Director's, please consider volunteering with us during our annual seedling sale or other events listed on our calendar.

Ed Cagney - Chairman

Ed is a cash crop farmer growing corn, soybeans, wheat, seed corn, green beans and more. In 2018 Ed received the Master Farmer award by Michigan Farmer. Ed has served on the board since 2005.

Lynn Coville

Lynn grew up on a dairy farm in Climax amd worked for 31 years at Globe Construction. He now farms 100 acres of corn and soybeans. Lynn is a member of the Pavilion Township Planning Commission, a deacon at his church, and a board member on the Battle Creek Farm Bureau.

Mike Klooster - Treasurer

Mike and his wife Linda own Great Lakes Greenhouses in Comstock Township. He has served on the KCD board since 2015 and enjoys working to help preserve and improve the environment.

Tricia Keala

Tricia is a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional whom is passionate about protecting our natural re-sources. She is a Michigan native and works with local municipalities in the advancement of their parks, property development and asset management. Tricia has served on the board since 2018.
