SOUTH DORSET RAMBLERS

Our Group is centred on Dorchester, Weymouth, and surrounding areas but our walks cover the entire county and beyond. The walks on Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesdays range from about 5 to 12 miles, usually with a picnic lunch although we sometimes have a pub lunch, or tea after the walk. We cover the variety of coast and countryside in Dorset and provide an excellent way to explore our beautiful county in friendly company... For those people who walk informally or by themselves we offer information, support and opportunities including high quality routes... We also protect the places people go walking. We believe in protecting people's ability to enjoy the intrinsic values of nature and so we will defend the countryside and urban green spaces. To avoid unnecessary duplication of effort with other charities we mainly do this through effective participation in wider coalitions and by work within local communities to avoid particular developments.
