Mr. Hew always had a vision of starting his own engineering firm, and in 1992, he founded the firm with his wife, W. Elisa Chan. He worked as a full-time engineer as well as splitting his time between engineering design and business development. The company slowly began to gain more clients and work. Mr. Hew is the CEO and co-owner of UNINTECH. He is a licensed civil engineer with 28 years of expertise in managing civil and structural engineering design projects. "Chan quickly took advantage of market conditions by moving the firm into the residential housing business during a significant San Antonio housing boom." Ms. Chan is the president and co-owner of UNINTECH. She heads up the business development and strategic planning initiatives, oversees financial management, marketing and public relations, human resources and information technology for firm-wide operations. Ms. Chan works with all divisions of the company and has over 20 years of experience in proposal preparation, fee estimation, and public meetings and hearings. Her experience also includes involvement with developing management plans and approaches for projects. Ms. Chan has coordinated with private development clients, municipalities, local and state agencies to assure quality and meet the desired staff, budgetary and time guidelines.
