Guy Baxter

Guy Baxter, a Director and Principal with 8 years of dedicated service at PFM, brings a wealth of experience to the team, and has been instrumental in managing investor relations across the PAPE Group. Guy began his professional journey at the United Building Society before transitioning into project consulting. Subsequently, he assumed the role of Managing Director for the South African operations of the Consensus Business Group. Collaborating closely with Zuko, Guy played a co-founding role in the inception of Evolution One. Guy's responsibilities extend to holding directorships in numerous PFM group entities. He actively oversees critical aspects of business management, including investor relations, reporting, compliance, and fund administration within PAPE Fund 3. Guy holds a BA from the University of Natal and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Futures Studies, from the University of Stellenbosch. Guy is conversant in Afrikaans, a popular language in South Africa.

Justin Babaya

Justin Babaya, is a Principal at PFM and has served in this capacity for 6 years. Justin began his journey in finance and economics as a Credit Analyst at a prominent local credit rating agency. Subsequently, he joined Rand Merchant Bank, where he spent 18 years as a specialist transactor, contributing his expertise to the RMB Ventures' leveraged finance and private equity team. Justin actively engages in the PFM group's deal pipeline and transactional activities. His influence extends to his role as an executive member of the PAPE Fund 3 Investment Committee. Additionally, Justin holds directorship and/or chair positions in various portfolio companies under PAPE Fund 3's purview. Justin played a pivotal role in PAPE Fund 3's investment endeavors, and his expertise will continue to be instrumental in shaping the success of PAPE Fund 4. Justin holds a BCom degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Cape Town, and an MBA from the UCT Graduate School of Business. Justin is conversant in Afrikaans.

MR MARTIN POTGIETER

Martin Potgieter, a Senior Associate with 5 years at PFM, brings a wealth of experience to his role. Martin's career journey began in banking and consulting before he joined the PFM team in 2008, where he worked closely with Zuko and played a pivotal role in PACH's investment into ANB. His passion for impact investment led him to the Industrial Development corporation in 2013 and subsequently to D. Capital Partners (now Volta), a London- based global impact advisory firm focused on Africa. In 2017, he returned to ANB as an Executive before rejoining the PFM team in 2023 as a Senior Associate. Martin holds a BSc (Hons), an MPhil in Development Finance, and a CFA credential. Martin speaks Afrikaans, and French. In Africa, French is spoken in countries such Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Congo, the Côte d'Ivoire, Djibouti, Gabon, Guinea, Madagascar, Mali, Niger, Rwanda, Senegal, the Seychelles, and Togo.

MS ANGELA SENOSHA

Angela Senosha, with a 3-year tenure at PFM, brings a wealth of experience to her role. Angela's career commenced at ABI, where she steadily progressed to the role of HR Manager for the Greenfields operation. Subsequently, she assumed the position of HR Specialist at the Devland Manufacturing Plant. Her career is marked by a strong foundation in Industrial Psychology and a commitment to continuous learning, demonstrated by her completion of the GIBS-General Management Program. In her leadership roles, Angela is a catalyst for transformation through the people agenda. She fosters courageous conversations and designs HR processes that are relevant and impactful. Angela's unique approach empowers business owners to confidently execute their Human Resources mandates. Her versatility is evident in her successful application of HR skills across diverse sectors, including FMCG, Engineering, Private Equity, FinTech, Health Tech, Pharmaceutical, and Professional Services. Angela's qualifications include a BCom (Hons) in Industrial Psychology, complemented by her completion of the GIBS-General Management Program. Angela is fluent in Zulu and is conversant in Afrikaans, Tswana, Sepedi and Xhosa, languages which are spoken in South Africa.

MS EDINA CHEMBEYA

Edina Chembeya, a Senior Associate specializing in ESG & Impact, joined the PFM team in 2023, and is committed to environmental and social responsibility and impact within the realm of finance and investments, in particular private equity. Edina began her career as environmental consultant at EY. She later became a driving force behind ESG integration and disclosure within investment portfolios at the Public Investment Corporation. Prior to joining PFM, she led the ESG and sustainability portfolio at Clicks Group Limited. Edina holds a BA from the University of South Africa, an MBA from Rhodes University, and an MPhil in Business Ethics from Stellenbosch University. Edina speaks Nyanja, a common language in Zambia and Malawi as well as Bemba and Zulu. Bemba is commonly spoken in Zambia, whilst Zulu is widely spoken in South Africa.

MS KHENSANI CHAUKE

Khensani Chauke, our proficient IT, Compliance, and Office Support Administrator, comes equipped with 5 years of invaluable experience in her role. Khensani's career commenced at the Department of Infrastructure Development, where she served as a Desktop Technician and Service Desk Analyst, honing her technical expertise. Subsequently, Khensani assumed the role of a field support engineer at EOH Limited, a company listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Here, she played a crucial role in projects involving major entities such as Transnet and Eskom. Khensani's journey continued with Motivity, adding depth to her experience, before she made the pivotal decision to join the PFM team in 2023. Khensani holds a Microsoft Engineering Certificate. Khensani speaks Zulu, Xitsonga, Tshivenda and Sepedi, which languages are spoken in South Africa.

MS PHEELLO ROLLS

Pheello Rolls, a Senior Associate who joined PFM in 2023, brings a wealth of expertise to the team. With over a decade of post-qualification experience, Pheello is a seasoned corporate and commercial attorney with a specialization in mergers and acquisitions and private equity. Her career journey began at Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr and later encompassed roles at eMedia and PwC Legal. Subsequently, she ventured into consulting, providing her expertise to AECI Limited and offering advisory services to a consortium during the management buyout of Batsumi Claims Solutions (formerly Alexander Forbes Compensation Technologies) from Alexander Forbes. Pheello holds a LLB and BA from Rhodes University, as well as, a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategy & Innovation, from the University of Oxford. Pheello is fluent in Setswana a language spoken in South Africa and the national language of Botswana.

Zuko Kubukeli

Dr. Zuko Kubukeli, with 15 years at PAPE, currently serves as CEO, Director, and Principal of PFM. Zuko's private equity journey began in 2002 at Brait. Over the next decade, from 2005 to 2015, he established PACH's investment vehicle and collaborated closely with Guy to pioneer Africa's first cleantech fund, Evolution One, securing $94 million in funding. In 2008, he established the core team at PFM, which has since fully invested PAPE Fund 1, 2 and 3.
