Alejandro Bodipo-Memba

Alejandro Bodipo-Memba is the founder of OVP Management Consulting Group, based in Oak Park. A former corporate leader and print journalist, he has decades of experience in strategic communications, continuous improvement process design work and leadership development training. He served as senior communications manager at Commonwealth Edison, an Exelon company, and held several roles at DTE Energy in Detroit, MI. In 2010, Bodipo-Memba represented the United States on an international communications consulting team helping the nation of Argentina in developing nuclear communications strategies. He was previously a staff reporter for the Detroit Free Press and Wall Street Journal.

Ana Garcia-Doyle

With over 25 years of digital marketing and publishing experience, Ana Garcia Doyle is co-founder and executive director of One Earth Collective, an Oak Park-based environmental nonprofit that produces the One Earth Film Festival (the Midwest's premiere environmental film festival) and other programs. In addition to the Foundation board, she serves on the board of Kinfolk CoLab. She is also a community leader, advocate, and public speaker in the area of environmental sustainability, who helped lead an award-winning zero waste initiative in District 97 schools, and was named a Crain's Chicago Business 2022 Notable Leader in Sustainability. Doyle and her husband Jim live in Oak Park in a renovated 100-year-old home that received a 2012 Green Award from the Village of Oak Park, and 2019 LEED Gold certification from the US Green Building Council. In addition, the Doyles created a scholarship fund to financially assist residents of west Cook County interested in joining the Leadership Lab.

Angela Schumaker - CFO

Angela Schumaker joined the Foundation in 2023 as the Director of Finance, and is responsible for the accounting and reconciliation of all major financial areas and financial reporting. She provides support to the Chief Financial Officer and the Finance and Investment committees of the Board of Directors. Angela was previously an Assurance Manager within the financial services industry at RSM US LLP. Prior to this, she held accounting and financial reporting roles in various settings, including accounting firms, a private family office and a large, public corporation. Angela received her undergraduate degree and M.S. in Accountancy from Loyola University Chicago and is a Certified Public Accountant. She enjoys sharing a good meal with family and friends, as well as reading, bike riding and traveling.

Anne Sullivan

Anne Sullivan is the Foundation's Grants Manager, supporting the administration and management of the Community Foundation's grants and scholarship programs, and maintaining the integrity of the donor and grants database. She serves as the Foundation's primary connection to schools and students on behalf of our Scholarship Funds. Anne previously worked at Dominican University where she supported the University's Honors Program through program management, student advising, and logistical support. Anne has worked in the wealth management industry, higher education, and been involved in the OP-RF community for the past 30 years. She uses all these experiences in her work at the Community Foundation to help the Foundation change communities and lives for the better. Anne has an MBA in Finance from DePaul and a BA in American Studies from Notre Dame. In her free time, she likes playing tennis (really all racket sports), reading, satisfying her wanderlust, and spending time with her family and friends.

Antonio Martinez - CEO, President

Antonio "Tony" Martinez, Jr joined as president and CEO of the Foundation in August 2018. Empowered by his 20-plus years of experience in community engagement, philanthropy and foundation work, Tony designed a culture shift with board and staff to center a racial justice and equity lens in every facet of the Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation. Under Tony's leadership, the Foundation enhanced its vision and mission to place intentional focus on race and equity; expanded its geographic service area to include Chicago's west side and West Cook County; updated its investment policy to move towards 100% investment in environmental, social and corporate governance companies; significantly increased its annual giving to ten times that of previous years in response to the COVID-19 pandemic; and expanded its current network of donors, nonprofit organizations, local officials and community members to increase the Foundation's capacity to be of greater service to the region. Prior to the Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation, Tony held noteworthy positions with The Chicago Community Trust, American Bar Association, Museum of Science and Industry and the Chicago Cubs. An active community member, Tony currently volunteers on the boards of The Resurrection Project, National Rosacea Society, and the Alliance of Illinois Community Foundations. Tony is also a member of the Economic Club of Chicago and the Chicago Council of Planned Giving. Tony resides in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood. A retired soccer dad, he now takes pride in his adult daughter Elizabeth's zest for life.

Carrie Summy

Carrie Summy serves as Director of External Affairs, and is responsible for supporting and growing the Foundation's fund portfolio and increasing charitable giving to and through the Foundation, as well as general communications and community engagement. Carrie works primarily with donors and fund holders to carry out their charitable goals and help address socio-economic issues with philanthropic resources. Carrie joined the Foundation in 2016, and in her tenure she re-developed and executed its community leadership program, was a member of the strategic planning leadership team to reassess the Foundation's purpose and mission, worked collectively to fundraise and distribute over $1 million in COVID relief funds, and most recently, worked on the Foundation's Community Voices report, an assessment of structural racial barriers and challenges our community members face in the west Cook County region. Carrie serves on the boards of Wonder Works Children's Museum and the Oak Park-River Forest Chamber of Commerce. She has a habit of trying to learn new competitive sports - from roller derby to tennis- and enjoys hiking and camping with her family in the great outdoors.

Case Hoogendoorn - Chief Legal Officer

Case Hoogendoorn serves as volunteer general counsel to the Foundation, and is recognized for his civic and charitable commitments across metro Chicago. As founding partner with Hoogendoorn & Talbot LLP, he assists clients in maximizing the tax benefits of philanthropic giving through charitable trusts, family foundations and other charitable vehicles. In addition to the Foundation, he is general counsel to the Barnabas Foundation, and serves on professional advisory boards with Chicago Community Trust and Lurie Children's Hospital Foundation. He is a member of the Chicago Estate Planning Council and is a Fellow of the American College of Trusts and Estates Counsel. He lives in Oak Park.

Cathy Craddock

Cathy Craddock joined the Foundation in 2007 as Administrative Assistant. For over fifteen years she has been instrumental in overseeing the day-to-day administrative activities and operational needs of the Foundation, and an integral team member in the Foundation's success and growth. Duties include everything from processing checks to event management, and importantly ensuring that every person's needs - from donors to students to nonprofit leaders - are met in a joyful, professional, and timely fashion. Cathy enjoys spending time with her growing family and is the proud grandmother of three, and great-grandmother of two beautiful boys. She is a member of the Women's Ministry at her church and enjoys crocheting, needle point, dancing, reading and most recently bowling.

Douglas R. Dixon

Doug Dixon considers himself a community agitant for social and environmental justice and engages with like-minded people bending the arc of history towards social justice, especially throughout the greater West Side. His corporate path included finance, IT and sales functions for IBM, GE, BP, and Kraft-Heinz before he launched a consulting practice out of River Forest in 1996. Along with his wife Collete and daughter, Dixon lived in River Forest until 2018 and currently resides in downtown Chicago. Dixon's service to the Foundation includes chairing the audit committee, donor relations committee, Leadership Lab (formerly Community Leadership Program) and Future Philanthropists. He also currently sits on the board of the Three Pillars Initiative.

Elizabeth Chadri

Elizabeth Chadri is Program Director at the Foundation. Elizabeth joined the Foundation in 2015 and she manages several premier grant portfolios, the Foundation's collective impact initiatives, and the nonprofit capacity building program. She is currently working with her colleagues to expand the Foundation's efforts in addressing racial equity. Recently, she worked with the Foundation's leadership to conduct a community needs assessment which amplifies the voices of historically marginalized communities and informs the Foundation's work. Prior work experience includes MacArthur Foundation's international environment and sustainable development program, where she supported programs with linkages between environmental conservation and other sectors such as health, economic development, education and rights to natural resources. Additional experience includes an alternative school in Chicago's west side and several nonprofits in Africa. Her work is informed by her personal mission to enhance lives and she values a society where the voices, experiences, and talents of ALL people are cherished. She has a Master's in Education and an MSc in Training and HRM.

Emily Radamis

Emily Radamis joined the Foundation in 2024 as Development Associate. In this role, she leads the administration and management of the Foundation's giving groups and supports various development and marketing initiatives. She holds a Master's in Management and Leadership with a focus on nonprofit organizations and is passionate about community engagement and promoting the values of the OPRF Community Foundation. Before relocating to Cook County in 2023, Emily spent several years in the Pittsburgh area, where she worked for a monthly community publication, concentrating on relationship management, marketing/advertising strategy, data analysis and reporting.

IV Ashton

IV Ashton, a resident of Oak Park, is committed to uniting technology and justice to serve vulnerable populations throughout the world. Ashton began his legal career internationally, overseeing the development of a database tracking human rights violations in Kosovo, as well as several online tools for various ministries of justice throughout the Balkans. In 1999 Ashton co-founded Illinois Legal Aid Online (ILAO), which provides legal training and support to pro bono attorneys and pro se litigants involved with the justice system. In 2001, Ashton founded LegalServer, a web-based case management platform used by hundreds of nonprofit agencies and public defenders. Most recently, Ashton created houston.ai, a web-based platform applying machine learning to streamline legal processes for agencies supporting individuals who cannot afford attorneys.

Jennifer GoodSmith

Jennifer GoodSmith is an award-winning nonprofit leader specializing in data-driven strategic marketing, communications, and resource development. She has led successful initiatives in higher education, association management, and service organizations, driving growth through strategic planning and brand management. Recognized by the American Marketing Association, Jennifer was named Nonprofit Marketer of the Year. Currently Senior Of Counsel at Latz & Company, Jennifer was previously Vice President of Mission Advancement at The Anti-Cruelty Society, where she built a culture of philanthropy and led marketing strategies. She also served as Vice President at The Morton Arboretum, boosting attendance by 35%, and at the American Medical Association, overseeing physician communications. Earlier roles included marketing leadership at Dominican University. Jennifer holds degrees from Washington University in St. Louis and Loyola University Chicago. She and her husband are longtime Oak Parkers, she is also a proud grandmother to one grandson and three grand dogs.

John C. Borrero

John C. Borrero is a doctoral student in community and applied development psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and is a team member with the UIC Collaborative for Young Children and Families. His research interests include social-emotional teaching and learning, exclusionary school practices and racial equity in early childhood. For more than 30 years, Borrero has devoted his career to working on behalf of children and families in underserved communities. He was previously executive director of the nonprofit Collaboration for Early Childhood in Oak Park, and has held positions with the American Academy of Pediatrics, the U.S. Administration for Children and Families, the Office of Head Start and the U.S. Maternal Child Health Bureau. He also served as adjunct faculty at several institutions, including New York University and Bank Street College of Education.

Jon Hale

Jon Hale, PhD, CFA, is global head of sustainability research for the Americas at Morningstar, where he developed Morningstar's sustainable investing framework, which provides a straightforward way for financial advisers to understand investor motivations for seeking sustainable investments and outlines the range of activities associated with this approach to investing. Hale holds a doctorate in political science from Indiana University with a specialty in public policy, and is a past Oak Park village trustee. He currently serves on the Village of Oak Park Plan Commission. In addition to his public service, he sat on the board of the Unity Temple Restoration Foundation and co-founded Forum Oak Park, a grass-roots citizen group that advocates for policies that serve the greater good of the community. He lives in Oak Park with his wife, Lynn Kamenitsa, and their two college-age children.

Kelly Turner - Chairman

Kelly Turner is a senior counsel with the American Arbitration Association, Inc. (AAA) in its Chicago regional office. As a member of the AAA's legal department, she handles litigation, subpoenas and contracts, and works with employees across the country and in Singapore. She was previously vice president in charge of the Chicago regional office, focusing on the AAA's commercial division. Before joining the AAA, Turner spent more than 19 years at Locke Lord LLP, a full-service international law firm. In addition to the Foundation board, she is a member of the board of directors of the Oak Park River Forest Infant Welfare Society. She lives in Oak Park.

Kevin Robinson

A longtime resident of Oak Park, Kevin Robinson is currently a 2022 Fellow at Harvard University's Advanced Leadership Initiative (ALI), a program designed to help experienced leaders solve social issues through entrepreneurship by creating positive social impact. He is finalizing an ALI project goal of designing frameworks to address economic equity through financial literacy education in order to combat income/wealth inequality and disinvestment in underserved communities. He intends to convene financial education content providers with collective impact organizations and funders. Prior to attending ALI, Robinson most recently served as general counsel to an international financial services firm, and previously served in several public sector roles including as a prosecutor in the enforcement division of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. In addition to Foundation, Robinson serves on several nonprofit boards that focus on regional and community support for underserved individuals/communities.

Lisa N. Johnson - Treasurer

Lisa N. Johnson lives in northeast Oak Park. After 35 years with Wells Fargo, Johnson most recently served as chief financial officer for two startup healthcare firms. She also was chief operating officer of Lamar Johnson Collaborative (LJC), the architecture and design firm she and her husband Lamar cofounded in 2017. They are members of Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church, where Lisa serves as a deacon. In addition to the Community Foundation, Johnson sits on the board of United Way of Metropolitan Chicago and is an active member of the Chicago Network and the Economic Club of Chicago, and has previously served as a trustee of the Chicago Zoological Society. She is also a member of the Foundation's Women Leaders in Philanthropy giving group.

Mario Lucero

Mario Lucero (he/him) is an experienced Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) practitioner with a passion for supporting diverse communities, and advocating for social justice across the spectrum. Mario's work at UIC's Office of Diversity, as Director of Inclusion Initiatives, includes supporting the Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity & Engagement, and working with academic units to navigate retention; such as providing program infrastructure to recruit and mentor underrepresented faculty hires. Additionally, Mario is responsible for campus initiatives that deepen and increase DEI efforts for students, faculty, and staff. As a Strategist with The Nova Collective and in partnership with the Foundation, Mario was part of the Community Voices needs-assessment report. Previously as an Educator in Adult Education at Triton College, Mario was able to serve people from the communities where he grew up as part of the Community Voices team, which was a truly rewarding experience for him. Mario earned an MA degree in Latin American and Latino Studies (LALS) in 2013 from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Media Arts & Design from the Art Institutes in 2008.

Sarah Jolie

Sarah Jolie is the owner and president of Hensley Company, a 100-year-old mailing and fulfillment company founded by her grandfather in 1921. Now a certified woman-owned business, in 2021 Hensley was named to the prestigious Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in America. Jolie has also served on the boards of the Oak Park, River Forest and Forest Park United Way, Commercial Law League of America, and Chicago Postal Customer Council. She is the recipient of the 2021 Mail Professional Recognition Award given by the Chicago Postal Customer Council. A graduate of Oak Park public schools, she lived in Forest Park from 2003 to 2014 and now owns a two-flat in Oak Park with two other multi-generation residents.

Sheryl Martin - CFO

Sheryl Martin serves as the Chief Financial Officer where she oversees all financial, investment, human resources, IT and facility responsibilities of the organization. She works directly with external investment managers and the Foundation's investment committee to oversee the $50 million in Foundation invested assets as well as $34 million in investments for a private foundation for whom the Foundation serves as co-trustee. Sheryl joined the Foundation in 2014. Previously, Sheryl was the VP of Talent Management and Human Capital at a tax consulting and business advisory professional services firm. The majority of her professional career was spent at Motorola, Inc. where for 26 years she held various accounting, finance and talent management roles. Sheryl started her career in public accounting after receiving her bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She completed post-graduate coursework at the University of Chicago, and is a registered CPA. Sheryl volunteered on the Board of Directors of Sarah's Inn, a domestic violence agency serving western Cook County, for nine years. She and her husband David live in Oak Park where they raised their three children. She spends most of her free time on a tennis or pickle ball court or watching Tennis Channel.

Tawa Mitchell

Tawa Mitchell is senior program officer at the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation and is responsible for grantmaking in the Chicago Commitment program, a portfolio aimed at investing in people, places, and partnerships to advance racial equity and build a more inclusive Chicago. She previously served as director of education policy and partnerships in the office of Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, and was the inaugural interim director of Thrive Chicago, a multi-sector collective that aims to increase equitable outcomes for Chicago's youth. Prior to that, she was executive director of strategic partnerships at the City Colleges of Chicago, served as assistant to Mayor Richard M. Daley for education, and worked at the Chicago Public Schools as senior manager of the Community Schools Initiative. She is a graduate of Spelman College and holds a Master's degree in social service administration from the University of Chicago. In addition to the Foundation board, Mitchell currently serves on the Board of Directors for Illinois Humanities and the Parks Foundation of Oak Park. Mitchell resides in Oak Park with her husband, Mark, and their daughter, Maya.

Tawfiq Farraj

Tawfiq Farraj is a financial advisor with Merrill Lynch. Prior to joining the Foundation board, he served as a board member with the Muslim Writers Collective, an organization aimed at reclaiming control over the American Muslim narrative and providing a safe space for current and aspiring writers, and as president of the Chicago chapter of the Council for the Advancement of Muslim Professionals (CAMP). Tawfiq holds an MBA from the Keller Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor's degree in political science and economics from the University of Illinois Chicago.

Tiffiny Bolden

Tiffiny Bolden brings nearly two decades of experience in human resources, corporate learning and development initiatives, and diversity, equity and inclusion programs with international and local organizations. As the global head of human resources for Golin, a global public relations agency, Bolden serves as a member of the executive board and has a professional focus on providing culturally relevant, employee-focused human resources strategy for one of the most prominent and respected PR agencies. In recent years, she has focused on supporting diverse employee populations and building effective and impactful teams as businesses have navigated the pandemic. Bolden has a broad background in human resources spanning leadership roles in both large corporations and local public service organizations. She's led and developed teams as a senior human resources leader at a variety of companies such as Information Resources, Inc., Medline Industries, Inc., Anixter, Navman Wireless and Illinois Public School District U-46. She lives in River Forest.

William Planek
