Dr. Abdulrahman Mohammed Yousuf Jolo has been appointed as a board member at Katara Hospitality effective April 2024.
Currently serving as Deputy Undersecretary for Financial Policies at the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Jolo embarked on his professional journey in 2009 at Shell Energy as an engineer. Transitioning to the Ministry of Finance in 2014, he initially served as an advisor in the research and studies department, progressing to the role of Director of the Financial Policies Department in 2015.
Beyond his governmental duties, Dr. Jolo holds board memberships at QNB Group and the Qatar Financial Markets Authority. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas A&M in Qatar in 2009, and later pursued master's degrees from the University of Curtin and HEC Paris. His academic journey culminated in a Ph.D. from Hamad Bin Khalifa University, showcasing his commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

Rachid Mohamed Rachid is a prominent entrepreneur and investor who started his career in the Middle East before expanding his business into Europe and the USA. Rachid also held a cabinet position in Egypt as Minister of Trade and Industry between 2004 and 2011 leading Egypt's push to liberalize its economy.
Rachid is the Founder of the Swiss based Alsara Investment Group, which invests in companies in creative industries in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, with a focus on design, innovation and technology. Rachid is also the CEO of Mayhoola for Investment, which invests in high-end brands, and is the Chairman of Valentino and the Chairman of Balmain; two of the leading luxury fashion companies in the world. He is also a board member of the Katara Hospitality Group and is the Vice Chairman of Lipton Teas and Infusions.
Rachid earned a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alexandria in 1978 and an Advanced Management Diploma from the Harvard Business School in 1996. After his graduation in 1978, Rachid joined the family business and within years he transformed it into one of the biggest FMCG companies in the region. During that time, established several leading food manufacturing and distribution businesses, such as Dreem and Fine Foods and eventually partnered with Unilever.
In 2000, Rachid joined the Board of Directors of Unilever, and became the President of Unilever North Africa, Middle East, and Turkey. In that capacity, he led several of Unilever's largest international companies in various countries.
Notably, Rachid was awarded the Cavaliere di Gran Crose, Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana, the highest order of merit in Italy and in 2024.

Sheikh Ali Alwaleed Al-Thani was appointed as Board Member of Katara Hospitality in March 2021.
Currently, Sheikh Ali Alwaleed Al-Thani is the Chief Executive Officer of Qatar's Investment Promotion Agency.
Previously, Sheikh Ali was the Director of the State of Qatar's Office to the World Trade Organization (WTO) in Geneva, Switzerland, where he oversaw negotiations and standing committees in the WTO related to Market Access, Agriculture, Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, Technical Barriers to Trade, Subsidies, and other key areas. Moreover, he was elected by consensus as Chairman of the World Trade Organization's (WTO's) Trade-Related Investment Measures (TRIMS) Committee in 2017, which is responsible for one of the principal legal agreements of the WTO. In his role as Chairman, he oversaw the regular functioning of the committee, and was involved in the ongoing Investment Facilitation working group discussions.
