James Melia's healthcare experience includes more than 35 years in medical equipment planning and project management for healthcare construction. Mr. Melia's diversified experience includes the following: Medical equipment planning and project management for over 275 projects Extensive planning experience in all areas including medical imaging, clinical labs, radiation therapy, surgical services, trauma, and emergency services and virtually all other inpatient and outpatient health related services Capital budget management for a five hospital system totaling $28M in annual expenditures Comprehensive equipment planning for a 2.1M sf urban replacement hospital Extensive experience with occupancy and equipment installation planning for multiple projects Facilities management experience for a major medical center Oversees BIM coordination with architects, engineers, and medical equipment placement teams. Mr. Borgeson's healthcare experience includes over twenty years in hospital operations and planning. Since joining Walsh Consulting Group in 2002, Mr. Borgeson has expanded his experience while working at both academic and community medical centers. In his current role as a Senior Consultant for Walsh Consulting Group, Mr. Borgeson provides project management, planning and research services. Mr. Borgeson's experience includes the following: Project management, equipment budgeting and specification development for an 850,000 sq. ft. academic medical center expansion project. The space program included a multi-level interventional suite of (28) inpatient operating rooms and (14) interventional radiology rooms with several designed for hybrid procedures. Borgeson also led planning activities for central sterilization, diagnostic imaging, emergency services, and recovery services. Funding guidelines were established to promote the use of existing equipment and to support continued utilization of the hospital's capital replacement process. The project's medical equipment cost estimate was managed at approximately $105M. Equipment budgeting and specification development for the expansion of peri-operative services at several hospitals and medical centers. Assisted facilities in planning integrated video systems for operating rooms with boom suspended equipment. Equipment budgeting, specification development, and procurement services for a 306,000 sq. ft. greenfield hospital. Equipment specifications were developed with representatives from a multi-hospital system to enable "best in class" equipment selection. Lorna Sutton is a senior consultant for the Walsh Consulting Group. Her primary responsibilities include project management, planning, and design. Ms. Sutton's experience includes the following: Involved in planning specialty hospitals such as cancer centers, rehabilitation hospitals and heart hospitals. Managed project budgets and allocated resources; communicating and coordinating with project teams. Served as senior equipment planner on $318 million healthcare campus with a 750,000 square foot new 246-bed acute care and outpatient hospital project which involved existing equipment inventory, detailed equipment budgeting, placement drawings, and specification development. Worked as planner on $1B, 135-bed military medical center expansion and replacement project consisting of 1.13 million square feet incorporating evidence based design (EBD). Provided equipment planning, procurement and installation management services for several academic specialty clinics. Developed equipment budget, planned new and existing equipment and managed procurement for a 65,000 square foot critical access hospital.
