The Texas Environmental Almanac depended upon the cooperation and collaboration of many state agencies, including the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (TNRCC), the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, the General Land Office, the Texas State Soil and Water Conservation Board, the Consolidated Farm Service Agency, the Texas Water Development Board and the Railroad Commission of Texas. All these agencies provided access to technical reports and other data, as well as offering guidance and helpful comments... The Texas Center for Policy Studies was founded in 1982 as the Texas Center for Rural Studies. The name was changed in 1994 to reflect the organization's wide scope of work... Founded in 1982, the Texas Center for Policy Studies (TCPS) brings together the people and the information necessary to ensure that growth and development in our region enhances, rather than diminishes, quality of life.
