My name is AJ Hanscom, and I am the Senior Safety Director at Mills Shellhammer Puetz and Associates. I've been teaching safety as an OSHA Authorized Outreach Instructor in both the General Industry and Construction since 2018. I have my SSH CSHO and SHEP. I teach safety classes from OSHA, the NRA, DNR, National Pete, and the National Safety Council. I love lifting weights, driving, and painting miniatures! I believe safety shouldn't feel overwhelming or unmanageable and I love working with my clients.
My name is Amanda Oberle. I was born and raised in Sioux City. After graduating from Iowa State University with a degree in Accounting, I moved to Omaha, NE and worked as an accountant for a steel manufacturing plant. I later moved back home to be closer to family and worked for Wells Enterprises where I had interned in college. I like accounting because math is math, the numbers don't change. In my free time, I like to play with my dog Meeko, do woodworking projects, or grab a drink with friends.
Amy is a Siouxland native having grown up in Sioux City and is a graduate of West High School. Amy joined Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz & Associates in February of 2021. She is fully licensed in Commercial Insurance in IA, NE & SD. In her free time, she enjoys being in the great outdoors, gardening, photography, art, music, crafting and DIY projects along with spending time with friends/family.
Born and raised in Sioux City, Casey grew up in the insurance business. Focusing on commercial insurance, he specializes in crafting a suite of services tailored for his client needs. This includes proactive services that reduce the risks of losses, drive down premiums, and add to the bottom line.
Casey joined Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz following a career as a Chicago based Management Consultant. He earned his MBA at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management and holds a bachelors degree from the University of Nebraska.
Cindy has worked in the insurance industry for over 22 years, joining Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz and Associates in October, 2001. Prior to her joining our team, she worked at an insurance company which provided her with a well-rounded knowledge of company and client relations. She is a fully-licensed personal insurance account manager.
When Cindy is not in the office, she treasures the time spent with family and friends.

Dawn is an active member of the ASCNet Iowa Insurance Users group. She is currently serving on the Foodbank of Siouxland Board as Treasurer and the Redeemer Lutheran church council as Member at Large. She has also served on the board of Sioux City Growth Organization.
Geri started with Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz & Associates, Inc. in 2007. After working for more than 20 years on the medical side of insurance, working with both an insurance company and in an insurance agency; she moved to the Property Casualty side when joining Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz & Associates, Inc. Geri specializes in the trucking industry, in both long and short haul accounts with many larger difficult fleet accounts. Her experience in the transportation industry is used to service her accounts on all levels and lines of coverage. Geri enjoys working in the transportation industry, helping those that may not understand the industry to work through their insurance needs.

Joe is a 1987 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a degree in accounting, finance, and business economics. He entered the insurance industry in 1990 after working for 2 ½ years in Chicago as a public accountant with Price Waterhouse. From 1993 to 2002, he owned his own independent insurance agency in Sioux City before becoming a partner to create Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz & Associates, Inc. in 2003. He earned the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1998 and Associate Risk Management (ARM) designation in 2004 from the Insurance Institute of America.
Specializing in commercial insurance and employee benefits, his clients span a wide range of industries. An emphasis in his practice is to serve the insurance needs of local not-for-profit organizations.
Joe is a current member of Allied Insurance's Agent Advisory Council.
Kyle specializes in property and casualty insurance for commercial customers. He prides himself on analyzing customers' insurance needs and developing a tailored risk management program for his customers.
His real insurance passion focuses on workers compensation. As a Certified Work Comp Advisor, he enjoys helping customers reduce their overall cost of risk associated with workers compensation.
Kyle is a 2004 graduate of Dakota State University with a bachelor of business administration degree in management, finance, and management information systems. In 2006 he earned his Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU) desgination.

Kylee Waid is from the Siouxland area. She joined Mills- Shellhammer- Puetz & Associates in January 2022 and is fully licensed in Property & Casualty. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends and being outdoors.
Lynn started in the insurance business in 1977 in Sioux City, Iowa. Lynn has his CIC designation (Certified Insurance Counselor) and specializes in managing commercial accounts, with expertise in tough casualty lines for truck or trailer dealers, trucking companies, manufacturers, and contractors of all kinds. He has served on the Siouxland Chamber of Commerce Board, The Better Business Bureau of Sioux City, United Way of Siouxland Campaign Chair, St. Lukes Hospital Board, multiple church boards, and is an active participant with the Independent Agents of Iowa. Lynn also served for five years as a director on the Board of a major cargo insurance company, as well as serving on Producer Agency Councils for many of the insurance companies the agency represents.

Megan McIntosh joined Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz & Associates as a Commercial Account Manager in September 2020. She is from the Siouxland area and excited to assist business owners with their insurance needs. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her son and riding the motorcycle with her husband.

Michaela graduated from the University of Nebraska Lincoln in 2014. She received her bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a minor in Management. Michaela joined Mills-Shellhammer-Puetz & Associates in July of 2016. She is fully-licensed in commercial insurance. Michaela enjoys spending time with family and friends, boating, and being active in recreational activities.

Patty joined the agency in 1997 as accountant/system administrator. Prior to that, she worked in the tax department of a public accounting firm. Patty graduated summa cum laude from Briar Cliff University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting. She is an active member of the ASCNet Iowa Insurance Users group, currently serving on the Education Committee. She also is the Treasurer at First United Methodist Church.
