Carlene Goodman

Carlene Goodman is in training to become one a Registered Behavior Therapist at Behavior Framework to work with autistic children. She has three children from elementary to college. As a former client of CareerCatchers and now a Board Member, she knows how CareerCatchers makes a difference in people's lives.

Carol O'Connell

Job Titles:

Executive with writing, management, and analytical experience across the federal government at senior levels. Expertise in leading, mentoring, teaching, and executive communication.

Chase Engel

Job Titles:
  • Secretary
Chase Engel is a seasoned HR professional with secondary expertise in quality management and business process management. As a former member of the armed forces, he has extensive connections with military organizations. "I joined CareerCatchers because I want to give back to society. I'm committed to the level of investment the organization has in expanding the personal and professional development of our local community."

Chris Stephens

Chris provides IT and database support for CareerCatchers as well as career coaching services to clients. Mr. Stephens conducts CareerCatchers' weekly Job Club, where existing and prospective clients can drop in to receive job-searching advice and get help in creating resumes, applying for jobs, and writing associated letters. Mr. Stephens holds a B.A. in Government from The College of William & Mary. Prior to joining CareerCatchers, he worked as a volunteer, providing IT and database support for CareerCatchers as well as job coaching. His interest in career counseling became his passion and volunteering turned into a career.

Donna Boxer - Treasurer

Donna Boxer is now retired; she formerly served as the finance officer for several public sector organizations and she is a Maryland CPA (inactive). She is currently on the Board of two other organizations: Scotland Community Development, Inc (SCDI), the community organization at Scotland Townhomes, a low and moderate income community; and Housing Opportunities Community Partners (HOCP), which supports programs for residents of the County housing programs. "I joined because I wanted to be part of an organization that has developed a career coaching system that has transformed the lives of the people that it serves."

Erika Twitty

Erika Twitty has a plethora of experience working with individuals looking to make a transition and actively contribute to the betterment of their lives. Prior to CareerCatchers, she worked with hundreds of individuals to find employment and workforce development opportunities. Ms Twitty holds a BS in Psychology from Bowie State University and is currently in pursuit of a MA in Counseling with a concentration in Mental Health.

Faith Burns

Faith Burns lives in Washington, DC, and is an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Company where she is affiliated with the SHaPE (Societal, Healthcare and Public Entities) and Organization practices and advises public and private sector clients on strategy and organizational topics including workforce strategy, organizational design, and culture change. Faith received a B.S. in Commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 2020. Outside of work, Faith enjoys spending time with her husband, John, her son, Shepard, and their dog, Bailey. "I joined Career Catchers because I believe in its model of supporting the full person in achieving meaningful employment. I'm excited to help support its next phase of growth as it continues to serve the Montgomery County community"

Jacob Eck

Job Titles:

Jacob Eck joined CareerCatchers in April of 2024 as the Data Analyst AmeriCorps VISTA member. Jacob assists the analytics team in managing CareerCatcher's CRM system, Charity Engine, ensuring the organization's activities are accurately recorded and analyzed for reporting purposes. Jacob received his B.A. in Economics and his M.S. in Commerce with a concentration in Business Analytics from the University of Virginia.

Jane Kerschner - Chairman

Jane Kerschner is an educator, facilitator, and coach focusing on retirement and aging. She is affiliated with Newfield Network as a program coach, a member of the International Coach Federation, a National Board of Certified Health Coach, the Lead Wise Aging Facilitator at Temple Micah, a member of the of the Chautauqua Property Association Executive Board and the Board Chair of Career Catchers. " I joined the board because CareerCatchers invests the time and care in people to make real and lasting change in their lives. After 10 years of serving citizens of Montgomery County, CC is sharing its winning formula with other agencies in the County and beyond."

Justin Dignan

Justin graduated from American University with a B.S. in Business Administration and specializations in Information Technology and Finance. In his data analysis role, he helps expand the organizational capacity of CareerCatchers to support staff in assisting clients. He manages client data collected through the CRM database CharityEngine, compiles outcomes needed for reports or fundraising efforts, and manages the CareerCatchers website.

K. Kunda

Kunda has over ten years of career coaching, recruitment, community outreach and program management experience. She brings her considerable experience as career and life coach, recruiter, motivator and mentor to the vulnerable populations served by CareerCatchers. Ms. Kunda holds an M.A. in human resource management from Keller Graduate School of Management and a B.A. in psychology and sociology from the City College of the City University of New York.

Karen Shaines

Karen Shaines is a retired information professional with a background in communications and editing, who has worked across departments at the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. Prior to joining the Board, she served as volunteer coordinator for CareerCatchers. She has

Maria Dent-Turner

Maria Dent-Turner is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts where she earned her degree in Social Psychology, and has since gained more than 20 years case management and workforce development experience through Montgomery, Prince George's and Anne Arundel counties in their Maryland American Job Centers working on local and government grant projects. Her career path has taken her from Human Resources to Employment Services and then to Workforce Development working in partnership with private and public agencies becoming serving some of Maryland's most vulnerable job seekers. She is happy to return to Montgomery County to provide career navigation services as a Senior Career Coach with CareerCatchers.

Mariana A. McNeill - Founder

Mana is a Master Career Counselor who, with Ronnie Haber, co-founded CareerCatchers in 2007. From 2004-2007, she worked as a contractor to the Employment Initiative Program at the Housing Opportunities Commission. For the past twenty years she has been both employment counselor and executive coach working for both large corporations and on her own. Mana holds a B.A. and a M.A. in economics from Georgetown University and an M.A. in counseling from Seton Hall University.

Melissa Barrington

Melissa Barrington founder of M3 Consulting Services, LLC, a woman owned small business, which operates in the greater Washington, DC metropolitan area. M3 CEO & President, Melissa Barrington has over an 18-year career providing Management Consulting services across multiple federal agencies, state and local government, private and public sectors. Ms. Barrington a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and possesses advanced graduate level coursework in Operations Management and Education. She's also a former professional educator. She was recognized as a Subject Matter Expert in her areas of client delivery.

Ms. Emma Kunda

Ms. Emma Kunda has over 10 years of experience in Management and Sales. In her role as Volunteer and Training Coordinator, she manages our continually growing volunteer program as the liaison between the management team, clients, career coaches, and volunteers. She curates, reviews, and advertises our many various training opportunities. An important part of her role is actively engaging with clients to follow up and collect feedback necessary to continue improving our process. Emma holds a B.S in Business Administration from Siena Heights University.

Paul Leeds

Paul Leeds joined CareerCatchers in April of 2024 through AmeriCorps VISTA. He graduated from the University of Maryland College Park with a B.S. in Business Management, minor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, and completion of the Science and Global Change Scholars program. He works with the grants team to identify and apply for funding opportunities that align with the mission and programmatic needs of CareerCatchers.

Rogger Valle

Rogger has over five years of career experience in the banking industry. Rogger is Bilingual and brings his experience of counseling people from different backgrounds about their financial needs. He holds a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from Certus College, Lima-Peru. Rogger is currently enrolled at the University of Maryland Baltimore County and is on track to complete his Bachelor's degree in Social Work by May 2022. Since joining CareerCatchers, Rogger provides individualized support and guidance to clients with different approaches, strategies, and techniques to elevate their career path.

Santos G Guerrero

Santos's background is Workforce Development at CASA, Community engagement, administration. He graduated from Salisbury University, Salisbury Maryland with a dual degree in Business Administration and International Relations with a minor in Spanish. He joined CareerCatchers to work with our low income Montgomery County residents.

Sara Mazie

Stevie Herring

  • Digital Fundraising Manager
Stevie has seven years of nonprofit experience, five years of which are in workforce development. During that time they honed their skills of engaging with clients, funders, and community members, designing educational and marketing materials, and reviewing and implementing program changes based on collected feedback. They joined CareerCatchers in October of 2022 as an AmeriCorps VISTA Digital Fundraising Manager where they engaged with donors and community members via our social media platforms, newsletters, and email marketing. After their service year, they continue to work with CareerCatchers on many projects for our community. They graduated in May of 2022 with a B.S. in Chemistry.

Whitney Ridley

Job Titles:

Whitney has a background in Psychology, Criminal Justice, and Business. She has also worked with nonprofit organizations on opioid outreach, tax preparation, and data analysis. She joined CareerCatchers in February of 2023, where she researches, drafts, and submits proposals that helps CareerCatchers receive grant funding.

William Hegwood

William has over ten years of experience in education, community outreach and business services. He specializes in dismantling silos that impair organizations from reaching their full potential. Mr. Hegwood holds an M.A. in Education from City College of NY, a B.A. in History from Hampton University, and an Associate Professional in Human Resources from HRCI. He is currently working on a M.S. in Instructional Learning and Design at UMGC.
