Aaron found his calling with investment planning and relates it to fitting puzzle pieces together. He believes investment planning helps simplify the financial lives of his clients by relieving some of the stresses that stem from the complexities of managing their wealth. He finds it rewarding when clients take that "sigh of relief" after a meeting - knowing they have a trusted professional and partner on their side.
Aaron is dedicated to helping clients build, manage, protect, and transfer their wealth across generations. Taking a comprehensive approach, he specializes in financial planning, asset management, estate preservation strategies, and tax mitigation strategies for individuals, families, and business owners.
Aaron cares deeply for his clients, prioritizes trust and candor, and strives to develop relationships with clients that go beyond the numbers. He dedicates time to getting to know clients, both personally and professionally, so he can better understand their motivations. He then uses this knowledge to build comprehensive investment plans to help them meet their objectives and confidently live their lives. Aaron is a Missouri native and splits time working out of the Fulton and Columbia branch offices. He received a bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Missouri - Columbia. To better serve his clients, he committed to furthering his education and earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional designation from the American College in 2014.
Aaron and his wife, Michelle, are parents to three beautiful daughters. They enjoy rehabbing homes to help give their community a facelift in their free time. As a family, they enjoy Jeeping and fishing when they have the opportunity. Aaron is an avid Missouri sports fan dedicated to cheering on the Mizzou Tigers, St. Louis Cardinals, and Kansas City Chiefs.
Prior to becoming an advisor at Smith Moore, Adam worked in management with over a decade of accounting and leadership experience. While only a small portion of his day was spent with clients, it was always the most rewarding part of his day. Now, Adam enjoys focusing 100% on clients and playing a part in helping them reach their long-term financial goals.
Adam obtained a BA in Economics with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Illinois. He and his wife, Molly, live in Effingham with their daughter, Luna, and dog, Sam Elliott. Adam enjoys spending time with family, traveling, playing golf, and attending Fighting Illini basketball games and Green Bay Packers games outside the office.

Ally joined Smith Moore in October 2023 after a five-year career serving as an Operations Associate. Having previously served institutions like Edward Jones and Wells Fargo, Ally is proud to join Smith Moore and to help problem solve with advisors and faculty while meeting clients' wealth management needs. With a keen interest for learning and self-improvement, Ally is always hungry for more knowledge so she can better serve her clients.
Ally received her Bachelor of Science in International Business from Western Kentucky University. She lives in Glen Carbon with her boyfriend and their spoiled cat, Breeze. In her free time, Allyson enjoys traveling to new destinations, baking, and playing video games. She also has an avid interest in Japanese culture and language.
Amy Brody has over 20 years of financial management experience and is responsible for the overall financial management and related governance of the firm. She oversees the controllership, financial and regulatory reporting, human resources, and firm-level insurance risk functions. Amy is one of the seven Executive Committee members responsible for setting the strategic direction for Smith Moore and works closely with the Board of Directors on leading initiatives.
Prior to joining Smith Moore in 2015, she held senior leadership roles in corporate finance at MasterCard and Monsanto. She was also an external auditor early in her career. Amy is a Certified Public Accountant and obtained her BS degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from San Diego State University. She holds the Series 7, 24, 27, and 66 licenses.
Outside of work, Amy lives in Ballwin, Missouri, with her husband, David. They have five adult children and a spoiled house cat named Koda. Amy likes to stay busy watching movies, listening to music, and taking high-intensity interval and strength-training classes.
Art O'Dell has been working in the financial services industry for more than 30 years and joined Smith Moore in 1989. With a focus on high quality bonds, Art's goal is to try to lower the volatility of the market by building a bond ladder that matches market conditions. When rates are low, Art tries to shorten the ladder. When rates are high, he tries to lengthen the ladder to enhance return on investment. Since Art joined Smith Moore, he has relied on the core principles that launched the firm on its path to prosperity.
Art graduated from St. Louis University with a BA in Finance and is a Board Member of the Sue Spirit Train Foundation. He and his wife, Lisa, have three grown children and reside in the St. Louis area.
In a world with so much financial complexity, Austin feels it is essential for clients to work with a financial advisor they can faithfully trust. Austin assists clients in understanding the overall vision and minute details of their financial lives in order to develop a holistic financial plan that provides a clear path towards their goals. He holds Series 7, 66, and life and health insurance licenses. Austin is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, which better enables him to create and implement cohesive client financial plans.
Austin obtained his BBA in Finance and Economics from Drury University. He was born and raised in Overland Park and settled back in the Kansas City area after finishing his education. He enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling, and playing a multitude of sports including tennis and golf when outside the office.

Austin's family contains a diverse array of military personnel, teachers, nurses, and blue-collar workers; he is proud to continue his family's lineage of helping others, but through the field of financial planning.
Austin recently obtained his BS in Personal Financial Planning from the University of Missouri, Columbia. He lives in Fulton with his family and enjoys spending time with them when he's not helping maintain and expand the family chicken coop. Barbara Kraft joined Smith Moore in 2000 as Operations Manager and was named Chief Operations Officer in 2022. With over four decades of industry experience, Barbara brings vast experience and knowledge to Smith Moore operations. Her keen understanding of tax reporting, cost basis, managed account administration, and margin requirement calculations, as well as her extensive regulatory exam experience, make Barbara an integral member of the firm. Barbara holds the Series 99 securities license.
Barbara currently lives in the city of St. Louis with her dog, Lily, and loves walking around the Missouri Botanical Gardens in her free time. She has two daughters, Angela and Katlyn, and two grandsons, Jacob and Zachary. She is one of six siblings and loves spending time with her family.
Betty has been with Smith Moore as a Client Associate since 2009. She has developed a keen understanding regarding the importance of mutual trust and respect over her 30+ years of experience in banking and as a financial assistant. Betty has a passion for developing strong relationships with clients and getting to know them personally. She takes pride in her attention to detail, knowledge, strong work ethic, and ability to work collaboratively with the rest of the Smith Moore team.
Betty stays busy by serving as hospitality chair for Rehoboth Baptist Church and as a member of the Monday Club and Chapter CZ, PEO. She is a lifelong resident of Kirksville and often frequents Colorado to visit her two adult children, Janelle and Jordan, and their respective families. She is blessed with two grandchildren, Ruby and Finn, whom she loves to spoil. Blaine loves assisting clients as they journey toward making their financial goals a reality. As a Client Associate, she helps clients better understand their finances along with navigating and simplifying important financial decisions through every stage of life. Blaine lives in Columbia, Missouri, with her husband, Jacob. They enjoy attending music festivals, camping, kayaking, and traveling the world. Blaine volunteers at the VA Hospital on behalf of the local Elks Lodge and is a board member of the Playhouse Theater and the Brick District. You can catch her on the weekends driving her 1999 BMW Z3 with the top down and soaking up the sun.
Bob Plack joined Smith Moore in 1987 and is registered as an investment broker and an investment advisor representative. He manages securities portfolios and provides a full range of products, services, investment plans, and retirement plans. He specializes in managing traditional stock and bond positions with an emphasis on income and potential dividend growth.
Bob's father was a financial analyst, so he grew up reading financial statements. He was fortunate to study under two Nobel Prize winners who inspired a lifelong quest for a deeper understanding of business analysis and portfolio management. He follows a disciplined process to help clients build wealth and steadily generate income from their portfolios.
He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 1986 and holds a BSBA in Finance and Accounting. He holds the FINRA Series 6, 7, 24, 63, and 65 professional licenses in addition to holding a Missouri Insurance License.
Carl Fudge focuses on creating plans that fit the specific needs of his clients and utilizing his 20+ years of experience to educate them to make wise financial decisions. He equips his clients with a greater understanding of how investments work in order to make the best decisions about their financial futures. Carl collaborates with his clients to work through the questions that need to be answered and enacts a plan to help attain their financial goals.
Carl graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia with a BS in Economics and is a board member of the Varsity M Association at the university. He lives with his wife, Zina, and their daughter, Delayne who owns Zina's Gymnastics Club in Columbia. Carl previously spent over 30 years officiating high school and college wrestling and likes to travel and meet new people in his free time.

Prior to joining Smith Moore in December 2018, Christi was the managing principal and founder of Wealth Management Partners (WMP), LLC. She formerly held various roles at Waddell and Reed, Edward Jones, Hancock Securities Group, Irwin Union Bank, Smith Barney, and Mercantile Bank including District Branch Manager, Branch Manager, Financial Advisor, Trust Officer, Private Banker, Human Resource Specialist, and Recruiter.
Christi has been married to her husband, Darrell, for over 20 years and they have two children together. Brie is a nurse, and Ryan studies finance and accounting at Truman State University. Christi enjoys spending time with family, hiking, boating, and water sports like wakeboarding and skiing.

Cory Downer joined Smith Moore in 2022 as a Wealth Management Associate and fuels his passion for helping others through comprehensive financial planning. Entering the industry, Cory brought a unique perspective of the often complex and overwhelming situations that can be associated with financial planning. His personal experiences reinforced his understanding and the importance of each client having a plan that's tailored to their specific needs. He takes immense pride in assisting others and helping them feel more confident about their financial situation.

Dan Moran has over 20 years of experience in the industry and joined Smith Moore in April of 2008. He has extensive knowledge of network design, Citrix applications for desktop visualization, integrated Windows Operating systems, and multiple antivirus programs. Dan excels at managing the integration of hardware, software, and network structure. He also has a keen awareness of cybersecurity threats and implements necessary policies and procedures to protect the firm, its clients, and its employees.
Dan oversees the development and implementation of Smith Moore's enterprise systems while continuously evaluating new technologies for the firm. He also administers the installation and maintenance of the firm's software and hardware inventory. Dan utilizes his Series 7 and 63 licenses to work closely with the compliance department to better understand the industry compliance standards and ensure they are implemented.
Dan is an active member of FS-ISAC Broker Dealer Council, multiple SIFMA groups, and various advisory boards, in addition to serving as a member of Smith Moore's Executive Committee.
Outside of the office, Dan enjoys bowling, golf, and softball. When they are not traveling to music festivals or camping in their upgraded trailer/camper, he lives with his wife, Chris, in Columbia, Illinois.

Daniel has been in both the real estate and the financial services industries for many years. He first became interested in business at the early age of ten, when he started selling farm-fresh eggs from his own chickens. This established his passion for working hard to achieve his goals, which he maintains and now channels into his clients' wealth management efforts. He is focused on educating his clients on their retirement strategies and helping guide them through their financial plan. To better serve his clients, Daniel holds the FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities licenses and is insurance licensed in the state of Kansas.
Prior to joining Smith Moore, Daniel obtained his associate degree in communications from Allen County Community College and is currently working toward his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Western Governors University. He lives in Topeka with his wife, Trinity, and their daughter, Azalea. They attend Capital City Church in Topeka and enjoy supporting friends and family on mission trips whenever possible. In his free time, Daniel likes drumming and playing music with friends, hiking on nearby trails, and playing board games or basketball with his family.
Darci is passionate about helping clients reach their financial goals and providing them with the education they need to move forward on their financial journey. As a Client Associate, Darci assists clients with their inquiries and provides exceptional personal service. She assists her team with scheduling and administrative tasks while collaborating with them to ensure clients are having a great experience with the firm.
Darci lives in Kansas City, Missouri, with her husband, Brandon, and their two poodle sons, Noir and Quint. Some of her favorite things to do outside the office are scuba diving, coffee, traveling, and reading. She is always eager to find a way to combine all four together. Darci is fluent in American Sign Language and regularly volunteers at local events for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, as well as at the American Council of the Blind and the National Federation of the Blind.
Dave has the heart of a teacher and is dedicated to creating solid and comprehensive investment programs that focus on growth, income, and tax savings for both individuals and businesses. Dave received his bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and joined Smith Moore in July of 2009. He is the past president of the Effingham Sunrise Rotary Club and a current Sunday School teacher at New Hope Church.

Dawn is an active member of the American League, Post 5, Auxiliary, and the American Legion Riders Group. She and her husband, Dave, live in Jefferson City and have three grown sons, Tyler, Hunter, and Reece. They enjoy spending time together with their big family (she is one of fourteen children). Dawn likes riding motorcycles, baking, listening to music, and vacationing in her free time.
Though he joined Smith Moore more than a decade ago, Dean Hopkins' experience in the financial services industry dates back to 1978. He employs multiple strategies grounded in historical, fundamental, and technical knowledge, and is committed to pursuing a greater understanding of free markets and business. Dean builds long-term relationships with great clients by developing personalized investment strategies. He knows that client connections are the backbone of a successful relationship and is mindful of the client's wishes while implementing strategies.

Dean Williams, Jr. is a Financial Advisor at Smith Moore in Clayton, Missouri. Dean joined the financial services industry more than 40 years ago, spending his first six years in public accounting and corporate taxation before becoming a financial advisor.

Donna L. Zoeller joined Smith Moore as Vice President and Financial Advisor in 2017 with over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry. She has previously served in high-level positions that include President of BNY Trust Company of Missouri and as a Vice President and Public Finance Group Manager for US Bancorp. She holds a BA in Political Science and Business Administration from Winthrop University. In 2012, she completed her studies for the Accredited Asset Management Specialist™ designation from the College for Financial Planning.
Donna focuses on innovative and tailored client strategies while developing client relationships that have spanned decades. Having spent her entire career working with families and individuals who own businesses, she advises clients both on their long-term business and personal financial needs.
For business clients, she works with owners from start-up to maturity with a specialty in benefit plans, cash management, short- and long-term financing, transfer strategies, and business succession planning. Her customized strategies for high-net-worth individuals and families include preparing for retirement, trust and estate planning, wealth management and preservation, and educational needs. She often partners with a team of professionals and specialists to assist in addressing unique needs.
Donna's extensive record of community service includes being a Board Member of the St. Louis Children's Choir. In her free time, Donna enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, reading, traveling, and taking care of her pups, Odi and Lucy.
Dorothea Karakas joined the financial services industry in 1986 and currently serves as a Compliance Officer and Insurance & Annuity Manager at the Clayton branch of Smith Moore. She is a Chartered Financial Consultant® and a Chartered Life Underwriter®. Dorothea additionally holds the Series 7, 8, 24, 63, and 66 Securities Licenses, as well as the Life and Health Insurance License.

Dorothea graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a BS in Business Administration. She is also a member of the Philoptochos Ladies Society and Hellenic Spirit Foundation, and she serves on the St. Louis Metropolitan Committee for International Orthodox Christian Charities. She lives in the St. Louis area with her husband, Achilles, their daughter, Maria, and their spoiled Pomeranian, Foxy. She loves going to concerts and wineries with good friends and spending time with her family hiking, golfing, and going on float trips. Doug Nachman has focused on protecting and preserving his clients' wealth while planning for a tax-efficient distribution of their assets since 1989. He shares the company's philosophy of providing excellent client service with a personal touch.
Doug's time with Smith Moore has spanned over 30 years. He was elected to Smith Moore's Board of Directors in 1992, named Vice Chair of the company in 1995, and was named CEO and Chair of the Board in 2000. He has since relinquished these management titles to spend more time working with his clients.
Doug earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Indiana University and holds the Series 7, 24, and 65 Securities Licenses. He lives in St. Louis with his wife of over 30 years, Susan. Doug maintains an active lifestyle by playing tennis, golf, and pickleball.

Dylan earned his degree in Finance from the University of Missouri - St. Louis. Building on his formal education, he deepened his understanding of economics, financial markets, and relationship management at his predecessor firms, Charles Schwab and TD Ameritrade. He assisted clients in understanding the fundamentals of investing. At Smith Moore, he is excited to spend more time working with clients on their overall financial plans, with a focus on retirement planning. Assisting clients in navigating through the multitude of financial decisions in their lives combines his passion for finance and his desire to help others. Dylan lives in St. Louis, Missouri, with his fiancé, Mackenzie, and their two golden retrievers, Baker and Grainger. Beth has spent her entire career, which spans over 40 years, in financial services with Smith Moore. As an Operations Associate, she is responsible for account creation, account maintenance, and various paperwork-related processes while assisting various departments with data input. She enjoys being part of a team of positive co-workers and contributing to the firm's success.
Beth lives in Collinsville, Illinois, and is a proud grandmother of three. She enjoys cooking and creating stained glass designs in her spare time.
Emily's day-to-day is focused on assisting clients by answering questions and facilitating their needs, as well as supporting advisors with their administrative tasks. Prior to joining the financial services industry, Emily worked as an elementary school teacher. As a Client Associate, she is excited to be in a new field and brings her passion for serving others to this role. She felt that Smith Moore was a perfect place for her to be once she saw how deeply the firm cared about their clients and their well-being.
Emily obtained her Bachelor of Arts in English from Truman State University and received her master's degree in secondary education. She is a proud St. Louis native and enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends, family, and dog, Roxy. In her free time, you can find Emily reading, playing pickleball, or practicing yoga.
With over 46 years in the industry, Frank Weber specializes in selecting blue chip stock with a focus on total returns for his clients as they build for retirement. He developed his love for investing at an early age, having bought his first stock at 10 years old after saving up his money from various jobs. Jaret Perryman is the Chief Compliance Officer of Smith Moore. He joined the firm in 2019 and assumed the role of CCO in 2022. Jaret has been in the industry for 25 years and has cultivated an interest in the capital markets since his teenage years. He previously served in senior level compliance, finance, and operations positions with Larson Financial Group and Millenia Investments before joining Smith Moore.

At the early age of eight, Thad created his first business by building a paper route selling the Grit newspaper to his country neighbors. Thad owned and operated restaurants for 15 years and will say he went to the "school of hard knocks." Prior to his experience in the restaurant business, he attended Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, and is grateful for the education he earned both in school and through real-world experience.
